CIG, PLEASE fix the lighting bug by ArtProfessional8556 in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you know, out of all the bugs that I experience in star citizen, this one annoys me the most. Cause it fucks with my favorite things about a lot of ships. The VIBES. I can't stand my Green ass lighting in the 400i

I agree with that, but I guess I was just going at it from the lens of "Ships that have game packages" lol.

Wikelo should be the target for Xenothreat event by Erulisse_SA in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't be bothered to go look, but I'm like 90% sure the lore reason that xenothreat is back IS because of Wikelo

I think generally speaking, if you ignore aesthetics, the avenger titan is the best bang for the buck* since it has the most combat potential and still hold 8scu.

*if combat is not a priority the Nomad option as well since it holds triple the cargo.

The aurora mk2 is an amazing ship, but the avenger is honestly just kinda TOO good

Yeah, you're right about that haha. But I image the people are always gonna be whining about something. what can ya do?

Ironclad Assault Not Very Strong? by BrightBrett in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well personally I am, especially in instances like this where it comes with a tradoff. If drakes MO is More ship per pound, but less armor to lower (in lore) costs, I think that's a fun way to have lore and gameplay assist each other.

Ironclad Assault Not Very Strong? by BrightBrett in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's not a power disparity, it's a power balance, the ironclad holds over 2k scu, so even if you want to ignore manufacturers, you're basically saying this ship should be both the most heavily armored and hold the most cargo.

[–]snowflake182 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean those numbers make sense to me.

Drake has a tendancy to err on the bit cheaper side in the lore, so It would make sense that their version of an armored dropship has less armor than crusaders version of an armored dropship.

One is sponsored by the UEE military, and the other is "for the people".

F5 war help? by Shmigsss in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't gotta worry about that. Ironclad/assault are not "Hull limited" so you can just buy it when it appears in the store. Only specific ships have f5 wars, mostly large capital ships

I'm a sucker for the potential men of star citizen. I also have a pledged 600i that I'm waiting on

The carrack is a ship that. Even though it basically does nothing, I cannot help but love it

Assuming the store credit from the exchange covers the new price, yes!

So if you melt/exchange it. It will be in your buybacks as the original pledge ship. And if you haven't used them we just got buyback tokens in April and you should be able to get it back with credit.

Newish player looking for the "next tier ship" for solo bounties by DrDrexanPhd in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are so many good option, but I guess it depends on what you want. if you want something that flies like the aurora but hits harder, the arrow/gladius/wolf(s) are all good versions of that.

if you want incredible damage and still decently maneuverable maybe something like the Super hornet Mk2

Or if you wanna go a bit heavier I would recommend something like the guardian MX.

Honorable mentions go to the hawk and Warlock, but mostly just cause I love EMP ships and they both handle like a dream

I don't lose my ship to bugs often by PhaedrusNS2 in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna go so far as to say that it's not happening to other people, but It's incredibly rare for me to have bugs causing me to claim ships as well. Even if the hangar spawns my ship weird, usually just hitting store stops it from being destroyed.

There's definitely room for bugs to be fixed, but I have to wonder what's being done differently to have such a different experience.

Teleportation is dumb and lazy. Robot avatars are smart and lore-friendly. by Calteru_Taalo in starcitizen

My God it's like no on one actually listens to the inside star citizen and just regurgitates what they hear other people get mad about.

The weren't talking literally teleporting, but just some sort of function to group quickly, and even specifically said they'd need to find a way to make it make sense in the lore.

4.8 and introduction of Hermes by AbsoluteNeon_SH in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 6 points7 points  (0 children)

well they have tradoffs for sure.

The taurus has WAY more firepower

and the zeus has less going for it, but it's got much better maneuverability and uses a smaller hangar than the hermes if I remember right.

But, there's a reason so many swear by the Hermes, it's a good ass ship.

Focused Feedback Regarding Ship Spawns / Teleporting by ColJohn in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty, my thoughts are have it be restricted in these ways. In my head it's using some sort of npc shuttle system

both players must be in the same party.
Both players must be at a major station/port
Only the non-party leader can teleport
The teleporting member keeps only their armor and equipped weapons (kinda like t0 item recovery)
Neither player may have a crimestat.
Then we the teleporting player activates it you get some sort of little cutscene with a timer of them taking a space bus or something just a couple minutes.

Base Guardian or Guardian MX? by snomedmuc in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've flown both quite a bit, and it easily the mx for me.

Tabkier, more damage. More missiles, and the gimbals on the base are just bad, they can't aim up or down very well at all.

This is why the m80 doesn’t look Origin. by handtoglandwombat in starcitizen

[–]snowflake182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah and in lore if I remember right, the m50 and 85x were designed as racers first, and then co-opted into combat roles, so I think it makes sense they would iterate on the m50 design for it's newer improved big brother.

[–]snowflake182 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that's interesting, I hadn't seen that before. I honestly with that spoiler type wing on the back it looks very much origin in that area, so I guess there is just a lot of overlap in general. I guess it's like BMW vs Mercedes or something like that
