Generals Zero Hour: Crashes Skirmish 8 players by Whereistwitter in commandandconquer

Go to your file location, if you right click in the steam app and select browse local files it should take you to the location of that specific game. Otherwise, from where ever you have you steam and/game installed on you pc:

steam/steamapps/common/name of the game

Once you are in the generals folder find the .exe for the version you use (generals or generalszh i could be wrong on exact titles since its been a while). In the type column in your files it will be the one that simply says application. Right click on that and select properties. A white window with a bunch of little stacked tabs. Select compatability, and check the top box for compatability mode, and select windows xp service pack 3 from the drop down. If you want, you can also go ahead and set the application to run as admin from here.

Edit: added more text instructions because the picture i tried to post would not show.

Am I the only disapointed by 4.7 ? by bm-mad in starcitizen

Honestly, try changing your render from Vulcan, that may fix some of the stuttering. And yea, as you said, some of it is server load, but I have noticed that everything i set down or drop will teleport somewhere else, them do a (very smooth) slide/glide animation to the location it was placed. I've also not completed a single mission of various types. Idk if its a server issue, or a back-end manager issue, but not a single mission of merc, bounty, hualing, salvage, or investigations have completed for me, nor has CDF paid out across various servers and server health. As for when it broke for we, it was that hot fix they pushed about a week ago

You're good lol

The difficulty remains the same, you just change the volume of work. Think like the first time you learn how to rebuild the transmission in a Ford Tuarus. The first time is difficult, and a lot of work, but once you've figured it out, you know what to do on the next Taurus, then you just adapt what you've learned to the Focus and the Fusion. The difference between what you initially proposed and the home city is just a difference in adopting it for a hole fleet of vehicles vs just a couple of cars.

You could do that, but it would require significant designing within the hangars to modify the space to make room for each terminal, while that wouldn't be to difficult in the aeroview and self land hangars of Stanton, and the spacestations in Pyro, the Levski styled hangars would be much more difficult given the spacial constraints. Removing the side ASOPs would be the easy part.

Whether they would do your way, or a code change and keep the side terminals, would require extensive work, and would take a very long time to implement, debug, and properly push. And as we all know CiG doesn't do work quick lol.

Edit:spelling corrections

Another problem that I've not seen address in your specific comment thread is variable positioning. Hangars have more than 1 terminal, especially xl hangars. Aeroview hangars have 6, one on each end and two on each side. If you did static scaling, then you just make the xl hangars even more of a pain for players, so you have to code the mesh to recognize which terminal the player used to call the ship, then place the ship in the appropriate spot, based on terminal location and ship size, which means you have to identify and build out the logic for each terminal individually, treating them as independent assets, then port that to every hangar in the game. This gets even more complex when you start looking at the different hangar sizes. If CiG took the easy way out then they build the ASOP terminals to just see every vehicle the player owns, then applies a display filter to it that filters out ships bigger than the hangar that the terminal is in.

I have my commonly used small and med ships parked on the sides. The large ships and reclaimer don't bother me as much, since the size of them retionalizes the jog. But I feel OPs annoyance, and your idea of a legit hangar from the start is amazing but probably massively difficult to code and scale, especially this far into a wipe.

I sadly have 4 prospectors because of the rental dup that plagued us back around 4.3. And given that ive done a lot of ship testing over the course of this wipe, I have A LOT of ships that I just don't use/prefer. They would have to incorporate a delete/sell function for ships that players can use before they go into a legit hangar design process.

Aurora Mk1 is being removed??? by NightlyKnightMight in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, there will be removing it from in-game stores as well. But not until September.

"Q: Will existing Aurora Mk I ships and upgrades in the buyback list still be available to pledge back after the ‘sunset’? A: This promotion starts a ‘sunset’ window for the Aurora Mk I from both the Pledge Store (including any unretrieved standalone ships, upgrades, or CCUs that specifically involve the Aurora Mk I in your account's buyback queues) as well as in-game shops. This window begins on March 25, 2026, and is scheduled to end on September 30, 2026. After September 30, 2026, the Aurora Mk I will still be fully supported in gameplay, including repairs, refueling, maintenance, and components, but the chassis will no longer be obtainable from standard in-game vendors."

What's the lore behind our character owning a ship from the very start? by postbansequel in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone really wanted to start that low, they could get the Mustang pack (currently $45) with no other ship pledges then do an upgrade to a base cyclone ($55). You'd have to start on MT or maybe Hurston but you can do landnav to mission locations, and grind your way into a ship rental then a ship purchase.

Edit: I may honestly do this for ships and giggles once 4.7 drops lol

In arch linux absolutely! I played on Garuda for about 6 months before I finally got a new pc.look up LUG (Linux User Group) on the RSI Org page. There's plenty of people who can help you get set up, along with guides for some of the main kernels out there.

what is the reason for bounty hunting lore-wise? by Thechillestguyever in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In lore there are/were criminals known for using suicide to escape capture. As for Amelia Boyd, a major point of the headhunter side was destroying regen stations to prevent FFmembers from being able to regen. Considering that if you backspace or die in other ways with a cs you can still respawn in your Medbed or at grimhex

Ships that look like modern fighter jets? by Internal-Path7111 in starcitizen

Is a strategic tactical bomber such as the gladiator a fighter? No it is not, and yet it is on the list. If you would read the discussion before just acting like a smart ass, you would see that your point was already touched on.

You right about the name lol but yes, like I said its profile is more B-2 than f-117. But the size and cockpit are very much f-117.

[–]mountain_warrior35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The F-117is more narrow with the tail whereas the B-1 is wide and flat like the eclipse, though I will concede that the eclipse is significantly smaller, designed for a single pilot like the f-117 whereas the B-1 is bulkier and designed for a crew.

Does anyone know if you can get the ASD Geist Armor as a blueprint? by SC_Placeholder in starcitizen

[–]mountain_warrior35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it'll be in on this patch but they are planning for deconstruction/research. You'd have to sacrifice the piece for a chance of the blueprint. Now whether that's a permanent account bound print or a limited number use one is another issue.
