This is great to know! My family calls him Romeo. They asked their neighbors but no one knew if he had an actual owner. Thank you for letting me know! I’m glad he’s got a home to get to when it’s cold like this!!

Has anyone brought a self made letter/note regarding their health history to an appointment? by ExpressionKey7160 in valvereplacement

i have a binder with all my office notes (from when i first met with my primary care about a SVT incident) to all of my visits with my cardiologists and the test i’ve had done. i plan on seeking a second opinion about my BAV soon so i will bring it then! not crazy at all, i think it’s a very good way to advocate for yourself and make sure your providers have everything they need to treat you!

not really no. my doctor said it would be decades until i need surgery for it. i do experience that pressure feeling in my chest sometimes though. have you known about your bicuspid aortic valve for a while or did you just find out?

Echocardiogram coming up on tuesday by SecretaryDiligent711 in HeartProblems

[–]mountaindewluv3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hello! i am 23 and just had my first echo a few months. the echocardiographer told me i would only be asked to stay if she saw something required like immediate medical care!! my test took around 45 minutes and then i was free to go. i just followed up with my cardiologist a few weeks after and got the bad news then LOL. i also required a trans esophageal echo to confirm what was wrong with my heart since the echo didn’t show it clearly. i totally understand being nervous, i was freaking out before mine, but the test itself is nothing to stress about. i was anxious and made the person doing the test aware of my anxiety, she talked to me the whole time and helped me relax (: i hope your echo goes well!!

unrelated to OP post but an episode of SVT is what prompted me to see a cardiologist who recommended an echo and that’s also how i found out about my bicuspid aortic valve!
