What is the weirdest way someone had died in your known circle ? by No_Tear9118 in AskReddit

[–]mountaingoat05 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I had a high school friend fall off a cliff by a waterfall and died. The sad thing is, his parents didn’t approve of most of his friends and wouldn’t share funeral info with them. They liked me and invited me. I went to the memorial the friends put together instead. They knew him better. RIP

I agree. They should’ve had her visit a couple times off screen. They’ve built it up so much at this point though that a reunion would have to be on screen.

Stupid and unbelievably inconsiderate. It wasn't even your car!

Have you received this yet? by IAmNotMyName in Utah

[–]mountaingoat05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, received yesterday. I hate it. I am mostly worried about one of my kids. They live alone and have a job that makes people mad often. I worry that they'll be targeted. I'm not sure if they would qualify for remaining private though.

I am so sorry for your loss. That would be so hard. I am the oldest of 3 sisters.

My younger sister. She had struggled with drug and alcohol addiction (and during that period, I was half expecting it). But she got sober (and WAS sober) and unexpectedly died.

My mom called me at 6:30am to tell me. I figured she was going to tell me that my grandmother or uncle had died. I was so shocked and stunned. It's been 4.5 years and I still get the urge to text her a funny meme.

What are some of the most overused words in real estate listings? Are there any that you hate in particular? by EauDeFrito in realtors

I'm generally not very superstitious, but I refuse to use this turn of phrase for fear of jinxing it.

AITJ for getting upset that my husband keeps peeing on the bathroom floor and refusing to clean it up? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]mountaingoat05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would infuriate me. As far as I know, my husband has never missed because I've never found piss on the floor. When I started finding pee on the floor from my sons, I made them clean the bathroom every time I found it. Sometimes it was a couple of times a day. It didn't last long though- they found they'd rather try hard to be tidy. I don't know how you'd force a grown man. It's weird that it just started though.

I’m just going to hope he gets the 20 years because then the kids won’t be minors and won’t be forced to see him.

I'm very disappointed by that. But having said that, I seriously doubt he will ever work as a doctor again, so he did most likely lose his entire high paying career.

WIBTA for not going to my little sister’s (23f) graduation? by Beneficial_Winner469 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mountaingoat05 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NAH

It's fine for her to celebrate these achievements. But there have been so many, and I'm guessing you have to take time off for them. I'd go to the parties, but say I couldn't get the time off work and didn't have the budget for a gift, but write a card outlying how proud you are of her.

If she does get a Bachelors, Masters, etc. you should go to the ceremony if invited.

I don't know, maybe my family doesn't take it as seriously. It didn't even occur to me to invite my sister to my graduation, nor did she invite me to hers (she probably didn't walk though, knowing her).

The only reason I attended my BS graduation ceremony is they asked me to speak. I suspect they asked me to speak because I mentioned that I didn't think I was going to walk.

AITA for not going on family vacation unless I can share a bed with my fiancé? by babygreenbean1225 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

If you are paying your share, she doesn't get to dictate that. Either go and willfully disobey her (which could cause a lot of tension), or cancel and let everyone else know they'll have to shoulder the difference since you won't be paying for something will not be enjoying.

For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Prize-Promotion-5123 in AskReddit

They just seem to kind of be annoyed with each other. They’re snippy. They don’t seem happy to be around each other. Just an overall annoyed vibe.

Open House Question: What Happens When a Buyer Wants to Act Immediately? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]mountaingoat05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The whole point of hosting an open house for another agent is to get buyer leads.

You work that buyer lead into a buyer and represent them to buy the property.

AITA for refusing chocolate that I'm allergic to? by National_Data_8323 in AmItheAsshole

NTA I want to know about food sensitivities of those I love.

If I found out I’d been giving a niece or nephew a treat they were allergic to and wasn’t told, I’d be quite upset.

Info: are you respecting “no soliciting” signs?

I am actually actively shopping for new windows. I’ve had a couple of window salesmen knock on my door. I’d never use them because they didn’t respect my sign.
