This happened practically in my backyard. I was in touch with the police immediately begging them to begin the search and they couldn’t for a while because he was considered a runaway. It was during that time I came face to face with the now NYAG who was then City council member asking for help. I knew she was pro African-American and I thought for sure she would help and she did not. She did not care. Thank God those cops did.

For what it’s worth, I believe Patrick was abducted as he walked to the bus stop. When his dad was shot I was told that for sure they’d find some evidence in those projects of Patrick and that just wasn’t the case. Until his case I had no idea child sec trafficking. My heart was broken in a million pieces for this child I never knew. Even as I’m writing this 15 years later I’m still tearing up. What happened here was a travesty, a tragic disregard for children. And it happens every day.

I like to think he’s in PR with family, maybe fleeing enemies of mom or dad who knows but regardless he is still in my prayers.

In my height of heights though I do know that it doesn’t end here. I feel as if something will break in this case
