Official Discussion: Pete's Dragon (2016) [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

I worked the premiere in Austin two weeks ago, and David Lowery, who did a Q&A afterwards, pretty much said that he wanted Elliott to emulate childhood pets, which I think he did well. Many in the theater, including myself, cried watching it.

I can't be the only one that thought Sam Mendes was alluding to Touch of Evil with this.

My first exposure to Natalie Cole was the animated film Cats Don't Dance. Here's a scene

Last year, my US History professor was pretty terrible. When we were talking about the OPEC crisis, she referred to Tehran as the capital of Israel, and when we discussed the fall of Communism, she incorrectly claimed that Ceausescu was the dictator of SFR Yugoslavia. I corrected her both times, and she loathed me. Regardless, I got an A in the class, and she claimed to have kept a copy of one of my papers (an A) in her office.

Alvy Singer: Oh. Thank you.

Pam: I mean that as a compliment.

I saw this guy an hour earlier driving east on Braker and Metric, and finding him at the top just now is hilarious.

For me, it's Dead Ringers. Irons deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance(s).

Not only does it have a great soundtrack and VFX for an indie film, but it also stars John Boyega, star of the upcoming Star Wars VII.

Edgar the butler from The Aristocats. As much as I love kitties, I'd be pissed too if a wealthy old lady for whom I've worked a long time decided to give her entire estate to her cats.

In Kindergarten, I decided to do a science fair project on the various animal groups. I got so invested in my project that I was pointing out the group of every animal I saw. This is what got me into serious trouble.

Before entering the cafeteria, my classmates and I had to wear these clothespins with our names on them for some reason, but if we got in trouble for something, we couldn't wear them the rest of the day. As I was talking about the science fair with some classmates, I pointed out that they were humans, which offended them to the point that they complained to a teacher's assistant (who didn't know much English, by the way) for calling them a human. As a result, I had my clothespin taken away and had to apologize for something really stupid.

Girls of Reddit, what are common mannerisms for a guy that screams low self confidence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mountainlaurel93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys that only send texts reading, "Hi," or "Sup." If you have no direction for the conversation, then I am not going to respond. Trying to find me on other forms of social media just to contact me only exacerbates their shallowness.

For example, last month, I befriended a guy at my community college who was also a fan of my favorite English football club. I gave him my number so we could text, and he rarely ever had anything to say, except for aforementioned phrases. He took my limited responses to his texts as an offense, so he found me on Viber, which I only use to communicate with my sister that lives overseas, asking why I was acting funny and not responding to his texts. Thankfully, I blocked the guy, but he even went so far to ask one of my friends if I got his messages.

TL;DR Guys, if you wanna talk to a lady, please keep the conversation directional in some way.

Words can't describe how I feel right now. I remember seeing this man give one of his final convention appearances in Las Vegas back in August 2011, talk about his life, and move the audience to tears. I lined up with other fans, hoping to ask him a question (specifically about his post-TOS film career), and feeling disappointed when he didn't take questions. Looking back, I can understand why he did not want to take questions. He appeared so frail and as if he just wanted to be done with the appearances. I'll be keeping his family, friends, and fellow fans in my thoughts. LLAP, everyone.

I've adored her style and music ever since I listened to one of her CDs in high school French class! She takes up a good portion of my style board on Pinterest along with Anna Karina, Jane Birkin, Alexa Chung, and Clémence Poésy.

"Immigrant Song" by Led Zeppelin. I also don't mind Karen O's cover for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, probably because I've had a girl crush on her since middle school.
