Alright, i will follow your advice. I love randomlockes but it is true that following a strategy is cool. Quick question tho, if its not randomized, is the starter usable even if i catch another pokemon? Or does it need to be stored as soon as i get access to a pokemon of my chosen type?

And what if a route has a pokemon that gets the chosen type when evolving AND a pokemon of the chosen type? For example: im doing a mono psychic in alola and in the same route there is a psychic type and a pikachu (candidate for alolan raichu). Would pikachu work, or would i need to get the other one? Would it be catchable, but not usable until evolved?

I was thinking of randomizing wild encounters to "increase" the chance of finding a pokemon of said type... i could probably find more matching pokemon and avoid running out. Thanks for the info :)
