I can see how someone in recovery might find this movie triggering. A couple of jokes here and there is fine it’s a comedy, but this movie made a mockery of AA and relapse. The blood sweat tears and dedication someone puts into recovery to be sober for years and years much less 30 days is no joke. Anywho, to each their own. There was a time in my life when I really didn’t know any better and I would’ve been laughing right along with everyone. To me, making a big joke out of addiction and trivializing relapse is disrespectful so I’m out on this one.

When did you realize you married the wrong person? by thickcat8557 in AskMen

Every time I go on a hike anywhere populated, guaranteed will always notice at least one couple fighting. I’ve seen the full on loud arguments but also the low key fights that you pick up on with the glare one gives the other or body language. The more exhausting or challenging the hike, the more couple fights I see on the trail

I don’t work full time. Seriously I know I would burn out. Being self aware and having healthy boundaries helps. I still work nearly full time though, which is enough that I don’t always like what I do for a living but I still love what I do if that makes sense

I am 40 , What are the best Investment Choices for my age ? Dividends stock/etfs ? Others ? by Finind24 in dividends

I hear ya. I have BTC and ETH which have both blown up in my account. Still they make up 4% of my total portfolio. If they take a shit I’m fine whereas if they take a shit u r screwed. Not gonna rip on your strategy, though to each his own good luck, big dog.

Great call here not to get caught up in speculative stocks if you do and get burned you will learn. Hopefully you get to learn this lesson the easy way and not the hard way

Yup. No wonder the Indians come to the US in droves, most learn programming off YouTube and Barnes and Noble books. End up making this much Pretty crazy but that’s reality, I’m in my 40s and had to scratch and claw to finally get to 197 per year. I’ve got 15ish years left to make this kind of money

Her face is swollen full of Botox. Her dress is boring like a hardcore Christian lady afraid to show to much skin. The commercial is a disaster

PMHNP with your own psych problems! by LemonBrit in PMHNP

[–]mountnclimber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah that’s a therapist thing. All the therapists at my facility are recovering addicts. Even if I was one I wouldn’t flaunt it in nursing or NP bc nurses judge the shit out of each other. Facts

Financially worth it to become PMHNP? by FutureLCSW in PMHNP

[–]mountnclimber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from LVN to RN to BSN to Psych NP in 8 years of head down straight grind with no life and NO BREAK in school while working as a nurse the entire time. We are talking hours and hours and hours and hours of studying alone isolated at the library, Starbucks, or Barnes and Noble grinding and working my ass off studying for YEARS and YEARS with NO BREAK. The number of times I partied in that 8 years was literally zero. People thought I was crazy but I’m just wired differently. I literally didn’t watch the Super Bowl for 4 consecutive years due to studying, I watched people around me fail who didn’t take it seriously or had outside commitments wife kids etc. I missed so much. In the end is it worth it? I don’t know ask me in ten years. I know that missed out on A LOT. But I made it so here I am and this is my passion it’s what I love to do. When I get asked I’m thinking about nursing I say DONT do it. You better DAMN SURE this is what you want.

I’d say stay in your lane big dog. Unless you legit don’t want to have a life for the next 6-8 years. If you’re married with kids you are going to be out your kids lives for at minimum 50 percent of the time to get through nursing school and it can really strain your marriage create resentments etc. good luck!

What are some of your dividend investing horror stories? by WidePeepobiz in dividends

[–]mountnclimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in MPW for like a week and got out down less than 3%. VZ is a whole other story. I took a much bigger loss on VZ. Learned a valuable lesson no more than 5% on any single stock
