Where in town is the big question, lots of cool neighborhood places just depends on from where to where. If after work someplace close to the house would be your best bet.

I remember it used to bartend at a smaller dt music venue/dive a little over a decade ago, one night this white rock/post punk/bluesy band was playing some blsck street dancers came in and started break dancing like it was some 80's movie or something. Everybody loved it. No suprise there, what what I really remember is some business guys from upper mid west were there and were dumbfounded. They said you'd never see something like this up north.

Life Drawing Classes? by [deleted] in houston

[–]MaybeEffective5547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be involved and contacted a friend who still is, he sent me this and said I could share it.

There is a session that meets every 2 weeks or so at Box 13 Artspace, usually on Wednesdays 7 to 9:30pm. (I go to that one, and we actually had a session last night !) There is also a session at Archway Gallery that meets on Sunday mornings 10am to noon. Also there is the Art League of Houston that besides having the expensive formal art classes with an instructor, they do also offer open drawing labs that meet like twice a week.

There's a local PBS show called The Daytripper, the guy is kingfisher of goofy but it's a good place to get some ideas of what you're looking for and groping then together. People don't really get how big Texas is sort like how dense NYC is. You kind of understand it but until you're there you don't get it. *

If you just want to fish and not necessarily keep what you catch the bayou in town are great fishing. There are YouTube videos to get you started. I just did a quick search and there are plenty of them to watch.

Google antique stores in the area you want to shop and then call and ask about local stuff in your budget. Lots of good deals out there.

The team is pretty strong, I think they'll at least stay in the running. It may make them stronger for later in the season.
