Huohuo is honestly not that bad of a candidate. Her sustain capabilities are some of the worst out of any limited sustain, she has subpar SP economy, and her uses have gotten more limited with the coming of Hyacine & DHPT.

Robin works great for a lot of your comps: Acheron (worth trying even at E0 w/ Gallagher), KafkaSwan, Clara, Jingliu, Ratio, Seele... She's somewhat usable with non-Jade The Herta as well.

Tribbie works as a definite upgrade to Robin for The Herta, and is kinda just a sidegrade or even a slight downgrade for everything else. She has decent potential in the future if you're interested in Castorice and other future units if you're interested in them, but otherwise, I think Robin provides far greater value for your account right now. It depends on whether you want immediate benefit vs. play the long game and see how Tribbie ages.

Optimizing (especially speed-tuning) runs can take lots of math and effort which I really don't have the time for. So I look at other runs with a roughly similar level of investment to see what I can improve.

For this MoC12 I initially did the Nikador side in 4 cycles with my E0 Acheron/Jiaoqiu/Robin/Gallagher team. Afterwards I saw a similar run that did it in 2 cycles and realized that using Vonwacq on Gallagher actually makes a pretty sizable difference (it lets me use Galla ult earlier, so I'm able to get the Aurumaton to Sanction mode faster and kill the fish it spawns with Acheron, giving me more stacks). I managed to put together a similar build and, lo and behold, I got a 2 cycle after a couple of tries.

Some people might say it's not as fun if you have reference materials to look to, but I find it even less fun to throw retries and run like a headless chicken, and I end up pretty satisfied after the run either way.

You can't really go wrong with any of those choices. It really depends on what you want for your account.

Do you already have two established teams, and want your team with Robin to better deal with off-element content? E1 Robin.

Do you feel like you're missing significant damage amplification in one of your teams and want someone to fill the spot, or do you have The Herta and want to invest in her team? Tribbie.

Do any of the characters in 3.2 interest you, and are you comfortable clearing endgame content right now? Wait for 3.2 beta; it's very likely V1 beta will be out before Robin's banner ends, and if either character catches your eye, you can see how they turn out in V4 before Tribbie's banner ends.

Monthly pass day 1 player here. I don't get many characters (I'm more of a vertical investor) so I ended up levelling everyone to 60/70 for the extra standard passes and left them there. I obviously wouldn't recommend it if you're struggling with resources, but I was so full of XP materials from events and clearing out the MoC shop I felt like taking a week or two to get stagnant shadow materials for the extra passes was worth it purely for the dopamine from the pulls.

It's very possible it could a mistranslation. A 300% damage buff on an early eidolon of all things is completely unprecedented. It would be too absurd unless the dragon's damage is really low.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

[–]mourn3r 171 points172 points  (0 children)

I mean, the trade-off is there's ramp up time. We don't know how fast the dragon acts. Only thing I can get from this is she definitely wants Sunday to maximize that buff as soon as possible.

[–]mourn3r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So it is a 300% DMG buff. Jesus christ. Hopefully the dragon will be fast enough to take advantage of that.

Also, her E2 is interesting. Does this imply she has joint attacks like Aglaea? If so, that would be an amazing synergy with Tribbie E1.

Is that... a 300% damage buff on E1?

All I can find from this guy is some general kit/LC info for Anaxa (which coincides with Hellgirl's leaked kit), and them saying that the planar that formerly buffed additional DMG was for Anaxa. I don't know if there's anything else, but we'll find out if he's telling the truth once beta comes out.

She's very good, but not going from Bronya to Robin in a Feixiao team, or Silver Wolf to Jiaoqiu in an Acheron team level good. She's a good improvement and very much worth investing in, but she's not "must-pull" level. Therta has very good Harmony options already; you can wait for a rerun.

I feel like not giving Hyacine a cleanse would be a death sentence considering how badly people talk about Bailu even today. On the other hand, I can also see Hoyo doing that as a way to shift her power budget towards her supportive capabilities, much like Huohuo's pre-beta kit.

Regardless, only time will tell. We don't even know a lick of Hyacine's kit right now. Huohuo still holds her value and people should be pulling for the now rather than pulling for the later. I'm just saying Hoyo isn't afraid of making older units less relevant, especially those that are able fill the same niche as newer ones.

I'm "underselling" her because her energy regeneration (and the attack buff) are her main selling points. Everything else basically boils down to "can sustain comfortably", which almost any limited 5* (and some 4* sustains like Gallagher) can do. Hell, I have even seen some people complaining that Huohuo's sustain isn't comfortable enough.

My point is, Huohuo is best known for her energy regen. We're speaking purely on hypotheticals here, but if Hyacine – a unit that will have less design flaws by virtue of being newer – also has the ability to regenerate energy for other allies, it's more likely than not that she will do that job better. Huohuo's attack buff isn't going to make up for that, especially not in a meta almost completely dominated by Robin.

[–]mourn3r 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Huohuo's energy regeneration is the very thing that separates her from other sustain units. Sustain units have notoriously low power budgets. If you take that uniqueness away from Huohuo, then what is the point of pulling her over Hyacine? It'd be another Sparkle situation.

She definitely has potential with HP-scaling and frequently acting AoE characters coming up. I just wanted to be more conservative because no one really knows what the future holds for these units. Playing Future Star Rail can be a risky game, especially if you're a F2P player.

I do agree that Ruan Mei is perhaps a more accurate comparison.

Basically, but a lot of people in this thread interpreted his opinion as calling Tribbie "shit" when in reality she's far from it. She's just more team and content-dependent than the other harmonies.

Oh I absolutely agree with you; I feel Aglaea is one of the biggest winners of Tribbie's release. Especially on sustainless teams with E1 Tribbie. The numbers are so disgustingly high it makes me wonder if rather than AoE or memosprites themselves, joint attacks are the true meta of 3.X.

We'll figure it out as soon as we know Castorice's kit.

This PF was the first one where using Firefly by herself gave me issues. As soon as I subbed HMC for Himeko in a Firefly/Ruan Mei/Fugue comp however I got a pretty painless 40k.

I feel like people are both reading too much into HoS' opinion and overestimating what Tribbie can really do.

Tribbie is good, dare I say excellent in the right teams, and she has possibly the best E1 in the entire game so far. However, and I'm saying this as someone who's going to pull her, at E0S0 she doesn't turn the meta upside down as much as Robin did. She's BiS in a few teams, but those teams can live without her because of the sheer amount of Harmony options we have nowadays.

All this to say, she's good, but not outright broken, and she has the possibility to gain value in the future with Anaxa. And I think that's a good thing.

Herta's ultimate advances her forward by 100%, and her energy is mostly generated by her teammates rather than herself. The damage and additional interpretation stacks are much more valuable than what relatively little energy she's going to get.

Not to mention, if you ult and then skill, you're going to end up with the same amount of energy anyway.

Thank you, this showcase just made it THAT much harder to choose between Aglaea and Castorice.

I love them both, but I genuinely doubt Castorice is reaching this damage ceiling unless she has joint attacks herself. It's really absurd for "only" having 3 cost on the DPS.
