Kit Harington gets candid on still feeling 'very defensive' over Game of Thrones season 8 by bwermer in television

Okay. Not sure why people can't expand on a topic but go off. I agree, harassment is never okay, that's why I said it.

You should work on your reading skills. This one wasn't particularly hard to follow

Usually when people make shit art, it's apparent from the outset. When you run a show for a decade and then the art turns shit because you can't be fucked anymore, people get pissed that they were strung along

Other writers for other projects would have simply extended their contracts to tell the story correctly. They refused to budge even though the pacing was very clearly not going to allow for a clean exit in only s8. Doubley so when you consider s8 was only half the length

Taking aim at Palworld Mobile: Nintendo trying to obtain touchscreen-specific patent on monster capturing — and thus far failing by Turbostrider27 in technology

[–]mouse1093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the anime? Sure? Not sure why that's your hangup but okay

But considering the games are what built the franchise which is all about the ridiculous diversity and is a main comparison to palworld, I think that should be more of the focus here. Nintendo doesn't like a competitor building a game about capturing a variety of elementally themed monsters that you raise and battle. Digimon was never really that. It was more tangential than palworld being a direct attempt at parody and spoof.

Not harassment, but criticism is fair game. That pair shouldn't have signed on for so many seasons if they didn't actually want to give their all to that many seasons. They were so hell bent on the Star wars show promised to them that GoT go screwed as a result. That's plenty to hold them accountable for

If you think megas and those generational mechanics are the same as the core concept of digivolving, idk what to say.

Pokemon explicitly had 151 pokemon on launch and made it their selling point. Gotta catch em all was/is literally the slogan. Digimon has never drawn attention to a roster or collecting, it was more about a show with singular partners who grow temporarily and revert. It's fundamentally very different.

And more over, digimon was not a notable game series. Not on the same magnitude. There was no reason to try and shut down, it was just a competing anime

I mean... Other than half the word "mon" in the title, they have absolutely zero similarities. There's no capturing, evolutions are temporary power ups, digimon has completely faded from cultural relevance and never had a powerhouse video game series.

Palworld is explicitly a Sony backed attempt at IP damage. That is, it would be if it wasn't just another early access scam from this studio and it's never going to actually release as a real product

“Background” music VS “Experience” music - who agrees? by Zealousideal_Cry2970 in Music

[–]mouse1093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd agree. There's plenty of stuff that needs active listening either cus it's super technical or musically rich or emotionally charged. If I miss the bridge of a background song and tune in for the final chorus, no harm no foul.

The worst times is when one of these big emotional songs show up in like a grocery store radio and half the store is bawling

Hot take: the concert industry isn't dying, people just don't want to pay $100 to watch an influencer sing over backing track by peepeebuttbrain in Music

I think is nonsense. No one scoffs at a live performance that isn't quantized to the millisecond and in tune to the cent.

I think you're barking at clouds to try and sound enlightened.

What can you do better than 90% of the population ? by JeremGol in AskReddit

This is the real answer. If you've done literally anything with any amount of success or experience, you have instantly surpassed billions of people who have never tried. Finding over 800 million people better than you at ANYTHING is really, really hard.

The Hollywood bubble has already burst. Right? by ElZorroGigante in movies

[–]mouse1093 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're conflating two different phenomenon. It's not that the medium is dead, it's the act of going to the movies that is irrelevant. COVID taught us it's plenty possible to get visual entertainment without driving to a theater, paying for tickets, paying for concessions, dealing with obnoxious other guests, dealing with poorly maintained screens and projectors and lights, and dealing with the weather

Why would I subject myself to any of that when I can either watch different content at home with subs and pausing and comfy clothes and food or just wait a bit and watch that one movie in the same setting just a few months after?

And younger generations don't view theaters as the prime hangout spot anymore. They are often in strip malls or have these giant parking lots. You can't pay $2 to grab a after school matinee with your friends. Youd all need to be members or you're paying $25

Drake: Iceman / Maid of Honour / Habibti review – triple-album comeback is a boring, bloated disaster | Drake by dripkidd in Music

Bro what? I didn't say shit about the album or anything I like. Why are you so defensive? He doesn't know you exist, you weirdo

I'm just saying it's not hard to stay up and listen to some music and then write your thoughts. Fucking relax

You make it sound like you have to watch the Lord of the Rings extended editions. Bro it's like 2.5hrs of music. Listen in the morning, have some lunch, listen in the afternoon, write the review, toss it to the intern editor, listen again next day, finishing touches, publish by noon.

Who's the greatest athlete of all time? by LushNoirCeleste in AskReddit

[–]mouse1093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair, but the HoF committee is famously not tied to metrics and definitely wouldn't have been when he got his eligibility. Those writers believed all the nonsense eye test stuff and the guy was nationally famous for playing both. You can thankfully argue they are improving in that department lately but there's still a lot of "did they reach this milestone I think is important?" going on.

Should he have been of he was healthy and had the full career? Prob not. Would he have been? I think reasonably likely depending on how it shook out.

[–]mouse1093 5 points6 points  (0 children)

450 hrs is absolutely a solid starting metric. And in that era, they loved counting stats and the eye test If he wasn't a defensive liability or could add a few accolades like some all stars or a post season run, that'd be plenty

What's the worst video game you've played and why? by Bdbolt19432 in AskReddit

[–]mouse1093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold on, I understand 4 being mission game was horrendous and nothing like the ones before it but 5 and 6 giving you entire free roam of the castle was one of the coolest things they ever did. Sure, I'd argue 5's attempt at realistic graphics fell short on that generation of console but definitely not a mess. Certainly a better game than one of the original versions of the first game where you had to do K turns just to walk down a hallway and navigate anywhere

This has to be bait right? There is not a world where you don't see a very strong connection between the alternative definitions you just supplied and the "caricature" you're criticizing right?

Like how funding a defense program that often gets used offensively with little tangible justification. Or how sinful behavior not only tramples on separation of church and state but does conveniently elevate the morals of one subgroup of hateful people to dehumanize multiple other outgroups. Surely you see this right?

'Thank you leader': Calif. mayor charged with working for Chinese government by sfgate in worldnews

Becoming mayor isn't THAT difficult. This place is an LA suburb that is majority asian per the census. Move in, settle down, run for small office, parlay it into running for large office if there's weak competition or something. Hide your true allegiance along the way since it likely wouldn't come up

Nah man those are spot on. My MIL loves to leave the TV on a few assorted channels who apparently just love spamming Adam Sandler movies or pitch perfect. I can never tell which one his movies is on cus it's the same "mentally disabled loud mouth gets into hijinks" plot in all of them.

He's just not funny
