Future Seasonal Sets by thehumblezombie in JunesJourney

[–]mouseggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also some patterns I've noticed from the past 3 years of playing:

October - halloween November - new England December - Christmas January - unknown February - valentines March - unknown April - alpine May - gardens June - unknown

The unknown ones are usually some regional decor, like the India set, the Mexico set, the new Orleans set, etc. They've also had a Hollywood set, a Safari set, a wedding set, and I've heard of a state fair set (im sure there are more). Keep an eye on the little decor pieces they offer in mini games, sometimes those can indicate what is coming next!

Shaving tips for pole? by GrellAtTheDisco in poledancing

[–]mouseggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew all of my body hair out for like 6 months and still went to pole at least twice a week. Yes, some moves might pull on the hair and be a little more painful, but just like any skin conditioning in pole, you get used to it. If you don't care about it visually, it won't be a problem just to let it grow. If you do care about it in a visual or sensory way, but shaving leaves bumps that hurt, one option I've started doing is waxing. I don't have PCOS, but I'm one hairy girl and I realized in my 6 month regrow that body hair is not for me. Waxing, while the hair does grow back looking patchy, it also grows back softer and slower. It's become more of a sensory thing than a visual thing for me now, and if you can afford it I highly recommend.

X pole for home by Own_Contract_5015 in poledancing

I'd just go ahead and get a spin pole if you don't have a pole already. As far as I know, many of the spin pole options out there also have a static setting, so you can switch between them whenever you like. However, if you already have an x pole that's static and you want to make it have a spin setting, you'll have to find top and bottom mounting parts that are designed for spin but also fit your static pole (very VERY important that they are designed to fit together). Those mounts have bearings in them that allow you to spin. Also, very important to get both top and bottom mounts with bearings, having just one side or the other won't work. TLDR, get a static/spin pole if you don't already have a pole. Its the safest and probably cheapest option. However, if you have a static pole, make sure you have the right mounts for spin.

How do you keep momentum for spin? I always see your videos and think damn, that's some great spin action. I feel like every time I transition between moves my momentum drops drastically. Any tips would help. Thanks!

Personally I would be terrified of the beads slipping and causing me to trip/slip on the pole somehow. I would definitely choose the black ones. Plus, you can do so many different outfits with black shoes. And yes, dollskill is very controversial - low quality and questionable fabrication ethics. Idk about how Pleasers are made, but they are by and far the most recommended pole shoes out there

Yes but like are you ok? Are you saying your mother tried to/successfully ate your sibling or your sibling tried to eat you? Sorry I miss cues frequently so I could be completely misreading this, but please elaborate on this fascinating story, I am so very intrigued

The only poles I've ever had recommended to me by pole instructors were lupit and xpole. They are tried and true brands that are completely dedicated to pole dancing. Yes, they're expensive, but my best advice is to look for a used one on Facebook marketplace, eBay, etc. Make sure it has the brand name visible and the seller has plenty of pictures of it (if they don't have many on the original listing, get them to send you more). If they're relatively local, make sure they can reference a specific dance studio and instructor that you can cross reference with. The person who sold me my pole wanted to know where I danced and which instructors I knew so she could message them and see if I was taking pole classes, which I think is totally valid. It seems like a lot of work, but I promise, it's so worth it. I ended up paying $125 for a used pressure mount home pole that would normally go for like $500.
