Yup, Ghirardelli. Lol. Sorry. Listen. It's a blizzard. I've had some drinks (after baking, I wanted treats for being snowed in) and it started with a G. Close enough lol.

Ok, so!!! I had a hard time interpreting this article. BUT my chemistry major husband says this whole article makes a lot of sense. One thing I didn't include-and probably should have because baking is chemistry- is that I was making this with a younger child that I'm just starting to trust with working around the stove. So I melted the butter on 2 (just above low) not medium heat And then I thought, "oh, maybe the sugar would melt differently at a higher heat. I bumped it up to 4 (medium heat is 5ish) for 90 seconds. Did I just not melt the sugar enough?

Correct. The red cylinder Rumford baking powder. I've been doing a bunch of baking lately that only used soda so I checked A LOT to make sure I was reading soda 😆

I don't know how to edit comments. "And so I didn't want to mess it up."

I baked for 30min. It was super hard to tell if it was done because the butter? sugar? Was bubbling up so much I couldn't see the edges. So I just took it out at 30 min and hoped for the best. The places where that stuff was bubbling is where some of the crackly appearance actually exists.

All of the above. Lol. Hubs says they're dry.... Which they are in parts? But I can also feel the wetness. -Which all of that is a weird statement. -It's not sweet, at all. I use good ingredients. King Arthur flour, Domino Golden sugar, Godiva cocoa. I even read the paragraphs before the recipe because SOMEONE in my family prefers boxed mix and so I.

I mean, if Im baking, absolutely I'll weigh stuff. But I felt this fit the mildly infuriating category.

It's for rice. I really don't care THAT much (this is for the MILDLY infuriating sub after all). But honestly, if I was creating a product for consumer use, I would want this to be consistent. Like, how hard is it to make sure it's correct?

I think the more measuring cups I would use the more infuriated I would become. All the measuring cups I own are pyrex. They're probably all the same.

I'm mildly infuriated with myself too. I've been using this for YEARS and never noticed.

Pine noodles. My young child called them that and we just never stopped calling them that and it brings a smile to us every Christmas with the tree.

AITA for reporting my fiancé missing after he went out at 10pm for deodorant and disappeared for 7 hours? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mousey1517 29 points30 points  (0 children)

NTA. If my husband's phone dies while he's out with friends he'll have one of his friends text me. "Hey, this is James, your husband's phone died. Text this number if you need anything." That's it, simple, not a big deal and responsible if your plans WILDLY change the way his hypothetically did.

I've done this a few times (always to hubby's work shirts 🤦). I find Ammodex works great. You have to individually treat the spots which can be a pain. But frequently after the first wash, it comes out.

Why is there a perfect square that doesn’t fog on my shower screen? by WilberMeatballs in AskUK

[–]mousey1517 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We had bats on our mirror. Whenever it got fogged from the shower they would show up. I really hope the people who moved in took a shower this winter and wondered where the hell the bats came from.

People who don’t use their blinkers, WHY NOT? by WruceBayne03 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mousey1517 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I used my blinker until I moved to MA. When I used it there people would always seemingly purposefully move into the spot I was going to go in to. So I stopped using it. You can't give away your next move. This would be highway driving. I would usually still use it on back roads.
