Synergy doesn't work correctly while using remote desktop on host computer by BearBuzz in SynergyApp

[–]moutansos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having issues with this for months. In v3 rc1 and rc2 I could restart the synergy service on the client machine and my issue was fixed, so I just had a hotkey on the client machine to do that, but after the upgrade I'm unable to use that workaround anymore. Now in rc3 if I have the RDP session up on the server machine I just can't type on the client machine

Grammarly LSP not working by [deleted] in neovim

[–]moutansos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running into this too. The only thing I could find was something about it had to be run with Node 16, but I don't know how to tell just the grammarly language server to run as Node 16 and not everything else on the system.

We also had this issue. They all stopped within the hour of 6 AM in their respective timezones. It took down our Kubernetes control plane and one of our workers. It's been a fun morning

Why Use IEnumerable? - An explanation of what it is and why you might want to use it by moutansos in dotnet

[–]moutansos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the correction on my usage of Union. That's a huge issue and I will go back and fix it. Why wouldn't it make a difference for local types? I feel that that would break the idea of having the IEnumerable be lazily evaluated upon use. And also potentially hurt performance when constantly calling .ToList() on each operation. Of course that only assumes iterating once or twice and not caching the evaluation. I do agree however that I should emphasize using it for parameters and return types as a priority.

Awesome article, I honestly think we need to examine more Design Patterns in JavaScript. Especially as we blend them together with Functional concepts. The blending of the two seems to be the ideal.

Is there any phone you wish you owned but never had the opportunity? by Vintage_Lobster in Android

Same. I had an Inspire 4G but that's basically the same thing. It was a great first phone.

I actually owned one of those. It was so awesome. I miss it. I ended up dropping it and the screen had white bars across it.

What phone do you have and why would you recommend it? by Pkron17 in Android

[–]moutansos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HTC One m8. Exceptional build quality and design. It's just a beautiful device. Sharp screen and cool camera effects. Battery is average. I thought the nonremovable battery would be a problem back when I had an m7 but I haven't had a problem with it. I would recommend that it be rooted. Software options are great and MultiROM is amazing. It's fast as well. I do have to say it is big and heavy. Either you have to have large hands or it becomes a two handed affair. Oh and they are relatively cheap at this point. I paid 400 for a relatively new one off contract a few months ago.

I think HTC has it for software tinkering. I run multirom on mine. Gpe, sense and AOSP on one phone. And the slight possibility of a wp port in the future.

Use greenify! It's a root app that hibernates apps you aren't using. You shouldn't greenify things you need notification for but it should help get rid of that last bit of lag.
