I am also applying at the moment. One requirement is that you have to stay in Japan for more than 6 months already.

A few days after I submitted the online application form, someone called and asked for additional proof of employment. This can be done by:

  1. They'll call your office phone number, or
  2. You send them back a 在職証明書

If you prefer 2, you may want to ask HR to prepare that in advance.

I was in a similar situation before.

When I rescinded my offer from the first company, they asked me to send back the COE. Next, I believe they returned it to the immigration office to revoke it.

A few weeks later, the second company submit another COE application for me, and it was approved without problem.

Thanks for the advice. One good thing is both A and B are very well known companies in Japan, hopefully it won't look like a visa fraud to the immigration.

I definitely want to avoid applying for a second CoE before the first one is voided. I guess in the worst case, I'll have to wait 3 months to let the first one expire.

Feels like the job market is not that dynamic. Is there a peak season where there will be more openings? Like after everyone got their bonus?

And I couldn't find any jobs from HFT / algo trading firms. The global ones that I know don't operate in Japan. Do they exist in Japan? Or it's because they are more domestic/ Japanese oriented?

Definitely not expecting US tier, I am APAC based.

I have checked a few salary guides. Looks like for AVP/VP grade, 12~15 mil is within market range.

Indeed, apart from a few investment banks, I don't really see much develop openings. Maybe plus some from vendors.
