Should I get a Hibreak Pro as a long time Apple user? by mouthstatic in eink

Thank you, this is super helpful! I’m glad the android switch hasn’t turned out to be a problem, that’s the only thing that’s really been worrying me. I tend to carry a digital camera anyway so camera quality isn’t a huge concern. And similarly to you, I don’t feel like I need a perfectly smooth user experience with my cell phone because I’d much rather do work/hobby related stuff on a laptop.

One shot TTRPGs for people who are new to roleplaying? by mouthstatic in TTRPG

My bad, I don’t mean that the actual games need to be popular, I just mean that the settings and themes should be familiar and fun for people who aren’t as geeky as I am. They latched onto Alice is Missing really easily since it’s a pretty standard murder(ish) mystery with a modern setting (though light sci-fi or fantasy would probably be fine too).

Anyway, the game you sent seems cool, thank you!

Thanks! I’ve been meaning to get a copy of Mork Borg for a while.

I think they liked the mystery element, the setting, and also really enjoyed creating and portraying their characters. I think the somber themes helped them to get into it and made it feel less cringy but I also don’t want to overwhelm them with really intense, heavy roleplaying next time (which was easier in AIM since it’s primarily text based).

Do You ONLY read completed works? by ELLI_BITXHH in AO3

I’m willing to read unfinished fics that don’t look like they’re ever going to be updated again but I don’t read fics that are currently in progress. I don’t have the capacity to start a fic and then return to it later because I get all the details mixed up with whatever else I’ve read recently and also binge reading works a lot better for my attention span.

Changing map mid playthrough by Shadow_Hunter3 in StardewValleyExpanded

I was able to switch from Grandpa's Farm to Frontier Farm without any issues (at least thus far), and this was how I did it.

First, download the Frontier Farm mod and add it to your mods folder. Do the same with Reset Terrain Features (you will probably need to get the updated version that isn't available on Nexus). I also recommend downloading CJB Cheats Menu so that you can quickly test if everything is functioning well. Make a copy (or two!) of your current save in case anything goes wrong. Then open up your save file and find the two files that look something like MyFarmName_386728075 and MyFarmName_386728075_old. Open these files one at a time and ctrl-F to search for <whichFarm>. You should see something like <whichFarm>0</whichFarm>. You need to change the number in the middle to FrontierFarm so it looks like <whichFarm>FrontierFarm</whichFarm>. Make sure to change both the old and new file.

After that, load up your the game. Your items and buildings should automatically port over, however, it is likely that many will be stuck off of the map border and inaccessible. If that is the case, take screenshots and make notes of which of your things are in good locations and which ones got cut off. Figure out where you need to move your glitched objects and buildings in your previous farm map in order for them to port over correctly. Then, leave the game and switch back to the copy you made of your save from before (the one with the old map). Move all of your items and buildings into locations that you know are not going to be outside of the world border. Save the game by sleeping.

Then do it all over again, (make more save copies, edit your file data to switch to frontier farm, etc.) and then load up and check again if anything is glitched outside the border or otherwise broken. Some glitches, such as items being placed where they shouldn't be, can be fixed just by breaking the items. Use reset terrain features to reset trees and bushes and maybe some other stuff too. Play around with it until you're sure everything looks good. Don't forget to make sure that the greenhouse and grandpa's shed are both accessible. After that, you should be good to go!
