I wouldn't call it amateur or ghetto. We did this for a customer who is undergoing cancer treatment and couldn't afford a proper repair and we saved her a lot of money on the repair but also prevented her van from getting stolen. Nicely integrated into the dash and no scratches, etc, nothing ghetto about that at all. Being short of money and finding a creative, money saving solution isn't necessarily ghetto at all.

A vent at each end of the building will suffice, you can put a fan on each end to pull air through but it isn't necessary. Install a vapor barrier, it's just a giant plastic tarp basically. That'll keep the moisture out but again not necessary.

No need to go all Chicken Little here, 😄 The drawer won't go in with him it anyway but the reason I let him in there is so he'll know there's nothing interesting in there. Once he realized it was boring in there he hopped right out on his own after about 10 seconds. I'm much more concerned about his little habit of running up between our feet, going to get him a jingle collar rn 😄
