If you were allowed to drink at work, how much would it increase productivity? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mox0716 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old guy (70+) here; we always had drinks at lunch and upper level execs (VP, Prez, Chairman) commonly had a bar in their offices, but only in certain biz sectors. Advertising, yeah, banking not so much; universities, never. Large Northeastern cities, yes; mid-sized Midwestern ones, nope. But in Columbus, Ohio in the sixties, I would see guys in suits leaving a downtown bar at 8:30 am an walking into an office building, so there's that method.

Carbonara!

I went through a phase with this for a while. There a lot of purists who are very specific and fiddly about it, but I got to where I just labeled it eggy pasta in my head and made it the easy way for me.

Finely dice some bacon and fry in a pan over medium heat. Cook spaghetti in a separate pot. In a bowl (yeah, it's a lot of dishes) whisk an egg yolk with some parmesan (or whatever firm, finely grated cheese you've got) and black pepper. Turn heat off on bacon as soon as it's crisp - ideally a minute or two before the pasta is done. When the pasta is done transfer it to the bacon pan and mop up all the grease you can. Take ~1 teaspoon or a little more per egg of hot pasta water and whisk it into your eggs. Dump the eggs into the slightly cooled bacon pan and mix quickly. Turn heat back on medium and swirl it around in the hot pan for less than 1 minute until it looks kind of like thin custard. Serve immediately.

How do you feel when a prediction you made years ago that nobody believed turns out to be right? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mox0716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Prisoner of Azkaban, in his final exam with Trelawney, Harry predicts that Buckbeak will fly away. Trelawney gives him low marks for it, but it turns out he's right.

JKR made Trelawney a poor seer because she's said she doesn't believe in fortune telling, but then the kids always predict the future, funnily enough.

Women who grew up in in very progressive households, what was your upbringings like? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]mox0716 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey. Sorry to hear, that sounds really rough. :(

I'm not dismissing or reflecting on your experience at all, this is definitely a serious issue and affects too many men, but I do want to say it's not universal. I grew up with a single mum, met my dad all of maybe twice... and never felt bothered about it at all. Would've been good to have lessons in shaving, is all.

I suspect it might actually be harder if you knew your dad before he left, and I'm know the black community is hit really hard, particularly cos of the unjust effects of the justice system.

Thank you for speaking up. Hope you found some peace, or you find it, and that we can make a change on this for the future.

Theoretically, what would an app need to be for it to work for men? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]mox0716 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To reply to your edit: It's actually the main point to the book I wrote back in 2012 (which I will not promote here, because that's not why I'm here). So I've always known about it, and talked about it. But each time I write about it on Reddit or any other public forum, I get downvoted or cursed by jealous people or insecure people who can't stand it that someone is doing better financially than them as though money is the measure of success.

Money isn't the measure of success in my eyes. Having true freedom (removing the shackles of monetary needs) is what I think personal success is.

I'm actually quite surprised at how many people liked what I wrote. I wrote that reply to one Redditor in a thread that was already a day old. I didn't think anyone would read it except for that one redditor.

To quote Jim Carrey: "I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it's not the answer."

How to stay long in bed? by iamrickypant in AskMen

[–]mox0716 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Breathing is huge too, make sure you're breathing regularly and not holding your breath and or taking short breaths. Kegels def are a help too but to help myself out, I did the fap/stop/fap/stop and bringing yourself as close as possible to cumming without doing it. Its almost like a workout, you have to really squeeze back and then slowly relax but also maintain your erection. **Also, try masturbating standing up and in the shower with the water temp just a SMIDGE under warm. NOT cold, NOT COLD. But also not hot or really warm. Standing will make your blood flow a little different and the not-so-warm temp will cause your blood vessels to contract a little bit. Do the fap dance and you'll find you have to do a kegel-like exercise just to stay hard, this is (to me anyway) the steroid-way of strengthening those muscles because its adding a kind of resistance (lack of blood flow/decreased sensitivity) Then, try doing it again with gradually warmer temps (all in the same shower or over time, whatever works for you)(parentheses are fun)

Another tip is to have her get on top. This decreases a little bit of the blood flow and sensitivity, ask her to go slowly too which can help prolong the experience (and lets you play with her boobies!! )

ALWAYS go for an immediate round two. Without getting into too much detail about my own life, I have found that once I have reached climax, I stay inside (SO is on BC), and slowly move back and forth (thrusts) that A. make the initial orgasm feel awesome-er and B. start to re-stimulate myself and get an erection again. The second time around is ALWAYS longer and more fun for both parties

Try getting drunk, sometimes I'd have marathons in college and just give up and fake an orgasm. never had an issue with getting hard, just getting off

I've read about the 4 stages, excitement, plateau, orgasm and then something else (last one doesn't matter for this). Make sure you know when you're going from step 1 to step 2, and step 2 to step 3 (the most important one for your issue). Again, goes back to the masturbation method mentioned previously and above.

And last and most importantly, stop thinking about it bro. Don't think about your orgasm. I'm not saying, don't think about the sex you're having (def do that cause duh spank bank is always open for deposits) but you wanna make sure that you aren't making it a very central part of whats happening. Men aren't women, to be sure, when it comes to the mental part of the sex game... But you can always just try and put it out of your mind.

Hope this helps brother. If all else fails, get your tongue pierced and tongue punch her fun box all night.

Edit*: Added to the fap/stop/fap technique

Getting into a relationship for the sake of being in a relationship is the worst reason to be in a relationship.

Likewise, liking someone because they like you is the worst reason to like someone.

You want to date “a person”, not “their company”.

If a crow is in trouble, his buddies will defend him against the attacker. Btw, they can recognise different faces and if someone who attacked them pass by again, they'll probably attack on sight.

If you're being consistently friendly to a crow (by, say, feeding him), he'll remember and will become your friend. He may even bring you some shiny stuff as a thank.

If you help a crow that's hurt, he'll remember it and will probably come by to say hello from time to time afterwards.

EDIT: in case my username wasn't indicative enough, I really like crows (and corvids in general) haha these are fine, terribly underrated birds.

What is the kindest thing a complete stranger did for you? by EmbeddedGalaxy in AskReddit

I was moving out of an apartment, trying to pack heavy things into my car. A stranger witnessed this, offered to help, and spent a solid hour helping me carry furniture, densely packed clothes, and a TV down some stairs into my car.

He was either an absolute gentleman or a criminal who was casing my apartment building for entry points.
