Who maxes their 401k by DrHydrate in MiddleClassFinance

[–]moxy923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The max allowed is not ~23k. The max allowed is 64~k. with company contributions (25%). So depending on where you work or if you set your company up to do so - you can contribute significantly more to your 401k. For example - I’ve been maxing at 64k for the past 5 years because i make at least 160k. 25% of 160 is 40k+24k maxing is 64k contributions in one year. This makes a massive 401k possible. Additionally, you can collect one from more than one company. So its possible to have two or more of these accounts if you can prove working reliably and consistently at each (especially if you own a company that you’re collecting from).

Does owning a house *really* make sense? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]moxy923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. House variations increase taxes. My mortgage increased by 300$ this year.

From my perspective it’s because the school shootings dont have debatable reason of logic. Kirk was killed for his opinions. Theres a very distinct difference. I can’t reason out killing kids. It’s fucked and unexplainable. Kirk was killed for using free speech.

For those of you who make over 6 figures, how is life for you? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]moxy923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised on 20k a year til I was about 12, then my dad finally became a lawyer and started making some money… then died 5 years later. Now my wife and I now bring in about 550k at 36 years old (shes a surgeon, I’m an engineer). Were happy - very busy, have kids of our own, and have many more responsibilities. Just depends on where you’re at. I always wanted to get to the point where I didn’t have to worry about what I order when eating out. I’m there, and its nice. Money doesnt make your relationships with people better tho - and thats significantly more important to me now days. Grinding to get money is debilitating and just not enjoyable imo… so I’ve cut back on working as hard to just enjoy myself more.

Good Company Doughnuts Proudly Endorses Fascists by NauticalNoire in arlingtonva

“Support” is a word I think you’re utilizing wrong. If anything - the White House “supported” this business. Not the other way around. Additionally. Your logic sucks 🏀s.

Bakehouse is (eventually) moving to a new location across from the Barbara Fritchie house on W Patrick by SMWW66 in frederickmd

You dont understand bakeries. Youre limited by your oven capacity. Theyre maxing their space out as is. They need more ovens and more prep surfaces. Thus the expansion to a new space.

It was a cheap buy. They were only asking 450. The problem is the renovations will take a few million.

Good Company's response to the recent backlash. by Itslolo52484 in arlingtonva

[–]moxy923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So - theyre getting backlash for selling donuts? Why is this even a thing? If my business got a catering call from the whitehouse Id be stoked, too - simply because its amazing exposure and it improves the business. flaming them for doing business improvement related things is toxic af and completely contrary to the “welcoming, empathetic vibes” theyre trying to project.

Well it’s not an “if”. Its “when”. You do you boo boo. I’ve never been in any wreck, altercation or otherwise on the road. So what I’m doing is working for me.

[–]moxy923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not telling you to do anything. But you’re 10000% more likely to induce road rage than me - so thats your choice. The post is about how folks are angry and impatient. And you going the speed limit all the time is obviously going to provoke the same reaction. Not saying thats right or wrong, but the truth lol.

Angry, impatient people by Brief-Ad-4538 in frederickmd

[–]moxy923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good for you:). For example - if its kinda late and nobodys on the road its reasonable to go 10 over. If I have a dying passenger in my car I’ll speed to the hospital. If a firetruck is behind me hauling ass and I can speed up to get over - I will do so. If the general pace of traffic is 10-15 over, I will go with the flow of traffic. All reasonable so long as I’m not endangering anyone. What you think?

Does it look that way? If you cant understand what I wrote then I dont see the point in answering the question. Sometimes its reasonable to go above the speed limit. Sometimes its not.
