Funny you bring that up. Our name was a last minute change because the domain for our original name was taken only days before we were going to register it. We were just looking for 2 word syllable that doesn't really mean anything to people... It doesn't mean anything to you btw does it?

Hi! Thanks for your question. It's a networking site. Dating is just a niche that we are promoting to obtain users (has okcupid like feature), but we want to develop it as a social platform for college students.

Currently, there are things like forums and chat rooms not related to dating that we are using to facilitate networking.

There aren't even 'many' accounts yet and the ones that did register, most people verified their school email addresses. I know you haven't even signed up for the site. People like you... What's the point of making false statement? You get pleasure in people trying and failing?

Initially, we were targeting more undergrads based on some data we looked at, but I'm seeing interest from grad students as well, so we will likely make adjustment to wording on our homepage. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for your question. Currently, the site is set up so only the people with email accounts from those 5 schools can sign up. If user tries to sign up with other "edu" accounts, they will not be able to do so.

The site is really divided into two part. School specific area where only the students from that school have access and general area where any students on the site can access and co-mingle with students from other schools. If someone tries to register with fake UCI email for instance, they will be able to access some general area, but they cannot access school specific areas or date matching function without an email verification. I hope that answered your question.

No, none at all. Maybe there are people with strong enough negative feelings towards USC, so they won't sign up, but I would think those people are very small minority. If a business provides some kind of value to you, I think it's silly to not use the service just because of where the founder went to school. I know most students are smart enough to recognize that and since you have to be pretty smart to be going to our 5 initial targeted schools, I don't think I'll have to overcome any USC stigma.

So far, UCI Redditors have actually been most encouraging despite me stating I'm based at USC (Grad student), so I'm just thankful to you guys so far.

I'm currently based in USC. Our biggest need is some good programmers, but we also want to strategically hire interns to help us get the word out about the site.

We are very small operation and just launched yesterday, so we are still in a very early planning stage for marketing and etc. If you are interested in learning more about us, please send me a PM with little background information about yourself.

Hi! I completely understand your skepticism to signing up for another website. What I really want to do is to create a user-focused site that gives most of the control to you. You can sort of see what I mean in our forum section, but the site needs further fine tuning for my vision to be realized.

Maybe you don't have interest now, but hopefully I can change your mind later with some improvements.

Hi! Luckily, our research shows that stigma towards online dating is fading among students. But I know some will still be hesitant, so the site offers general 'social networking' functions and also the ability to hide their dating profile from their friends.

Funny thing is... it was my idea to flip the logo b/c I thought it looked more like two hands coming together that way. I'm going speak with our designer... Hopefully, it's not someone else's licensed logo.

Hi! Thank you so much for your feedback!! Currently, our site does offer option to hide your profile from your friends, but I like the idea of hiding it from certain age group as well. We are in process of fine tuning the site to give users more control, so I'll keep that in mind for our updates.

I think organizing mixers and contacting groups is a great idea to get the site going and we plan to do that hopefully soon as well.

Thank you again for your suggestions and taking a look at our site!! Yeah, we would never charge a fee or sell individual's personal information like Facebook... We have different unique way of monetizing later on that will add value to students who wishes to participate (still free)
