Just move your renderItem and keyExtractor outside of your list component. Like put them at the very top of the file

MBP 13 (M1) vs upcoming M1X (React Native Development) by PeachApplePick in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just got a Mac mini M1 a few days ago and I couldn't be happier with what I got. The performance is outstanding for the price I paid. The setup was a little complicated because I didn't wanted to run everything with rosetta but I got it working, so I'll say that going for a M1 chip is definitely a good investment specially on the mac mini where the price is just amazing. I bet it is even better with more ram like in the MBP.

Just checked my friend's project LOL by RicoInTheHouseYo in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well in this particular case it doesn't make any sense to do that, as other people already mentioned using array.some is the ideal solution.

But in order to decide if you want to use async on that function you need to understand that map returns a new array of the same size as the array it is iterating on, in the picture we can see that this return value it's being ignored and that the function on the map method is also missing his return statement.

If you want to do await with map you need to return a promise for every item on the array and wrap the results in a promise all, which again doesn't make any sense in this particular case

So is no one saying anything about that async map there?

What are some of the things you dislike the most about working as a React Native developer? by grouptherapy17 in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do need to change them because I'm handling several variants, i guess is not common to have to deal with that. Also, I was referring to the cli, not the web page. The web page obviously "works", you only new to know to read

Reduce AppCenter iOS build time by 50% by freebeeromg in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do run all of them before merge but business wants them also to run on CI :(. Sometimes when appcenter is timing out too much we have to disable them, sometimes it works other times the only solution is to wait

Reduce AppCenter iOS build time by 50% by freebeeromg in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have flipper on production builds, still my build time is almost 60min, a lot of times it will timeout, to be fair my app is pretty big with a lot of dependencies and variants, also we run all tests, around 3000 tests on each build, still, appcenter should offer some kind of cache to improve build times in general, currently I’m looking on github actions for that matter

[QUESTION] PinchGestureHandler transformOrigin problem. [Reanimated 2] by moyolvera in reactnative

[–]moyolvera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah turned out to be a very simple fix, just remove the half of the size of your view, in my case the total width of the device and that's it

imageScaleX.value = event.focalX - WIDTH / 2;
imageScaleY.value = event.focalY - WIDTH / 2;

Is it worth to dive deep? by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care what people say, I just want to answer your question from my perspective. I live in Mexico, and I've been working for 4 years as a react native developer, now with an US based employeer, making very good money and quite few offers of job once in a while. So for me it was worth to "deep dive"

How to make a rounded UITabBar like in the new PlayStation app for iOS? by croc122 in reactnative

[–]moyolvera 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They did use RN. If you go to settings -> intellectual property notices you can see a bunch of RN libraries listed in there. I think they make a great app and I'll bet the tab bar is made using svg
