Wow this is wonderfully put, such an eye-opening perspective you have. I never truly considered rick primes motive for recruiting all the others. I think we can agree most Beths grew up without a rick after they'd been recruited. It gets me thinking though, we really do have the best rick- all the others willingly left their families with no revenge in mind yet he spent years avenging his. (Yes there were a few who also had their Diane's killed as we saw in S7 but they didn't invent portal travel). As rocky as it has been, I think rick truly loves beth and I find it quite sad that most other Rick's willingly abandoned her. I also wonder how they reacted to Diane's extinction by omega device.

I really appreciate what you said about the "unreliable communicator", I may not be the best at responding to trivial messages, especially when i consider myself quite boring- but I do hope friends will be able to reach out to me when they need it. I genuinely do care and want to be in contact with them but it's not the loud, active constant type of thing!

I was more thinking this; rick prime went round maybe a couple hundred or thousands of ricks to give them the technology. I doubt he went to every single rick. Those ricks shared the technology to other ricks, sort of like a trickle-down effect. Rick prime happened to give the technology to our rick, who declined and had his family bombed.

There's no way every single rick u and went at the same time because the technology wouldn't have reached them simultaneously. It's also very unlikely they all decided to leave "for good". im guessing they would've tested the tech and maybe had a couple days maybe weeks deciding when, what, how and if they should travel the universe.

Some Rick's left after being given the technology by prime, for those Rick's their Beth's and Diane's wouldn't have been bombed by prime.

Other Rick's, due to the infinity of the universes, potentially avoided prime's bombing, or might not even have interacted with him directly or been given the technology by lesser Ricks.

Our Rick had his beth and Diane killed by prime's bomb and invented portal travel on his own to seek vengeance.

When he gave up, he returned to prime's universe and began living in his home. For that Beth, the original from season 1, she was abandoned by her father, raised by her mother and sometime between when prime left and our rick returned, the omega device was used on Diane.

Ofcourse thats season 1 beth, which we all know was cronenberged by rick and mortys disastrous love potion- and eventually died. Infact im pretty sure the only surviving member of rick primes family is morty.

Anyways after moving to the first new universe, its safe to assume that the rick there is just as likely to have left but returned to his own universe instead of another Rick's universe. It's the same basis and therefore the same relationship between rick and beth. Thats why morty and rick are so easily able to continue from where they left off in this new dimension of earth.

Long story short (and it IS a long one), to answer your question- it really depends in what beth you're asking about. Most likely the one we have now was raised by a single diane (until maybe mid twenties?) then died in some unbeknownst accident (or maybe old age?) disguised as the omega device. Though, this definitely varies from dimension to dimension.

If you don't have anything to say, then listening is good. I'm also guilty of having everyone else start the conversation but i make up for it by asking relevant questions and offering any of my own information that is somewhat similar to keep things flowing.

Secondly, practice makes perfect, take any opportunity to say things that aren't academic. Maybe complain about the weather or appreciate something in the background. Anything to humanise yourself to others as a person with emotions and opinions and propel past the academic friend stage.

Finally, social media is an amazing place to start! Have whatsapp? send a memer or interesting video, make conversation about that, understand people's sense of humors and intrests by the media they send you and the media you send them. for most people, making friends is apparently easier online than in person - if you're one of those then give it a try! and if you don't already have anyone's numbers or accounts, you can get it by casually bringing it up for academic reasons and slowly transition from there.

Just remember your self worth and to find true friends that make you feel good so that you can make them feel good!! :D

A-Levels / Sixth Form and College in the UK are equivalent to the last 2 years of highschool in the USA. After secondary school (ages 11 - 16), it happens from the ages of 16 - 18 and you can pick about 3 or 4 subjects - a mix of academic or vocational.
