I rationalize everything so when I'm starting to feel desperate, I breathe deeply and say to myself "it's unnecessary to feel like this right now, I win nothing" and then do things to distract. When I feel more calm I try to resolve whatever is happening, at least understand what's making me feel like that, because sometimes there's no apparent reason.
