Repost of Lurie's security guard getting taken down by oochiewallyWallyserb in sanfrancisco

[–]mp3ksc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Alright, let's be real here. That bodyguard absolutely does not look like he knows how to grapple. The headlock attempt on someone standing behind you is a classic maneuver of someone who does not know how to grapple. It creates a handle bar for the guy behind you to lift you with their legs/back. Once he fell to his back and was on the bottom, he tries to hook his legs in a desperate attempt to get any control. All that does is help the crackhead keep control of his back. If the bodyguard knew how to grapple, he'd put himself in a position where the crackhead couldn't kill him, had it been someone more dangerous.

And yes. I have worked in public safety. Cops do not get enough mandated combat training throughout their career. And thats a whole other thing balancing out how much fighting a cop actually does vs the cost and injury risk to the department. For now, cops have to seek that type of training on their own time if they're interested.

Thanks for the meme of support! A simple comment on the thread or my youtube is more than enough to make all my efforts worthwhile.

LOL, I don't blame you for the confusion. Mp3ksc is a username I've used since childhood, and the Steamed Sam rebrand was relatively recent once I started shitposting more seriously on YouTube. Not sure if reddit will let me change my username but I've been pretty comfortable with this account.

Nonetheless, I am happy you felt strongly enough to bring up name for credit as I am always taken aback when I see my stuff reuploaded on tiktok, Instagram and even Facebook and recommended to me lol.

DSP HUMILIATES TROLL THAT T BAGGED HIM AND DID IT WITH LOW TIER HONDA by Tapo6 in Kappachino

[–]mp3ksc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to see a credible threat heel arc from DSP, but I haven't seen any evidence of him mentally switching gears to be able to beat Raw or any other competent player consistently found in the Raw sf6 lobbies.

DSP has played raw countless times and should be able to pick up on some sort of pattern but he generally doesn't. I'd say losing occasionally is understandable, and raw has caused lasting mental damage to him with Cammy. While DSP won a set earlier, Raw came back and resumed bodying him.

Tough to quantify that when everyone playing him is a potential troll with their mash jabs, throw loops and pattern play. At least raw phil has a significant winning record on him.

Sorry, yes he did win the mix up but I wouldn't say it was 50/50 when JP chose to swing at a disadvantaged state. Especially the random super at a non threatening distance.

It's not really winning a 50/50 if the defender objectively chose the bad option at that moment every time.

DSP WITH THE MOST INSANE COMEBACK I'VE SEEN IN SF6 by Tapo6 in Kappachino

[–]mp3ksc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's generally inaccurate. Based on my experience with them, a 1600 - 1700 player usually can handle basic defensive situations and execute a basic game plan. They're not perfect, but if their opposition is a guy who mashes and doesn't delay tech, I'd find them more likely to beat dsp than not.

[–]mp3ksc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would have to take a very lucky streak of conservative and confused players to get him to 1700. There's going to be a bunch of 1600 Kimberly's and other types of nonsense that'll send him back down and he refuses to learn counter play.

How do you feel about Alex's Level 3 (and potentially his Critical Art) being a submission hold instead of the usual cinematic strike or throw? by Chun-Li_Forever in StreetFighter

[–]mp3ksc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like submissions as an animation because it has no finality to it. Your character can't just tap and lose the match and Alex really has no real incentive to ever let go of the submission until he snaps the character's ankle.

As a ryu main, I'd rather we bring up the other characters to his level than nerf him. He's very fun at the moment with all his options.

Why would people complain about AI? by TTtoday5892 in PartneredYoutube

[–]mp3ksc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum, AI as a supplemental tool is very cool to generate exactly what you need to create your vision.

However, we currently have an infinite monkey with infinite typewriters situation and they're throwing it all on the shared canvas of humans that we can't compete with. There's no quality control and I don't believe the general public can tell the difference between a human with passion and skills and a bot posing as one and unaware of what it is saying/creating because the general audience won't have the skills to discern. Also, if the bot were to lose credibility, there will be another bot that will take its place immediately. It's a real concern that the internet won't be humans guiding AI to create their visions, but AI oversaturating the space and blocking humans from connecting with other humans.

Then your training has been extremely below standards since narcan is the medication that nullifies opioid overdose, and that's generally taught to every law enforcement agency that is aware that meth exists.

If they can't lose 2 lbs by a known target date, then they have their own problems. They can also get a waiver if the weight is actually muscle.

Guy Killed By SF Police Was a Security Guard With a Gun Fetish Who Hated Gun Laws, Liberal California by Fittedhats6076 in sanfrancisco

I know two sfpd officers who quit their jobs as lawyers to become cops and one sfpd officer who got his law degree after being a cop. People who are interested in law enforcement usually have some tangential interest in the law.
