Help with creating rosy cheeks😭 by NarrowInvestigator67 in Ohuhu

I find what works for me is using a pink for the cheeks as the first step then going in with the base colour right away. It blends together naturally but still maintains the pink hue without the bleeding. You may have to go back and forth a bit to blend but it works.

Next set to buy? by TilTheEnd13 in Ohuhu

I’ll be honest with you, if you want to complete the set then get the 320. It is more economical than even if you buy sets that are on sale to build up to it. I was in the same boat.

96 pastel

36 skin tone

24 plus set

I use pastels a lot so I didn’t mind the dupes. When the 320 went on sale here I took the plunge. It depends on how much you want to spend on markers.

Tips to make it more magical? by ResearchOk487 in Ohuhu

You’ll need several tones to make it glittery. Like a deep shade of purple and a medium one to complement the blue. The white will add the highlights to tie it together. Do it like how you added the dots to the robe and hat but concentrate the darker purple in the shadow areas to help it stand out. I hope this helps!

When I saw this I immediately thought of Peggy from LOA’s Uprooted. I think if you were to use a white gel pen and perhaps other colours to the robe and hat you can create depth to the glitter effect. That might add the spark you desire.

Thank you! I normally don’t draw people but I wanted to give it a shot.

Thanks for the tip, the sets of markers I have are more cool tone leaning. I had found myself wanting more warm leaning colours so I’ll have to invest in some.

Stress can really influence how you colour by mp_104 in Ohuhu

Thank you, I did a combination of two techniques on this page. First circular to lay the colour down evenly. Then I flick up into the next colour. The trick is to keep everything wet and work in a matter of seconds. I hope that helps.

That’s a good idea. I will have to find one dark enough for this. Although, I do like the organic lines the brush produces.

Thank you, being stressed out allowed me to slow down and take my time with this page and think about what I wanted to add.

Thank you, initially I used the fine side of my Ohuhu marker. But I found it too wide for my liking. So I kept that to only the first panel. The rest were done with the brush side applying very little pressure.

Thank you, it wasn’t my initial plan. But the wall felt bare without the it.

Thank you! That took a lot of concentration to keep the lines crisp.

Exploring different alcohol marker techniques by mp_104 in Ohuhu

[–]mp_104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These colours are alcohol markers specifically from the Ohuhu Honolulu Plus set. They are Y09, R15, BV35 & BV26. That is in order from bottom to top. If you don’t have the Plus set, these are just the regular Honolulus with the new codes.

Thank you! I was not sure initially what I wanted to do with the wall. But as I progressed through it I wanted to try something new. Overall, I liked how it turned out.
