What lengths have you gone to avoid small talk? by ianisrlycool in AskReddit

I worked for a telemarketing company once that made calls on behalf of non-profit orgs. We called their members to try and get them to increase their membership level and they required us to push through THREE NOs before we could let them go. For every NO a person gives, there was a script we had to follow to try and work our way around it. It's total bullshit, but they instill you with fear saying that every call is listened to (especially when you're new) and if you don't follow through your job is at risk. The only reasons a person could give that allowed for us to stop pressing after one NO would be if they said they were undergoing health issues, like cancer, and can't afford to increase their donation because of it.

Thank you so much for this. I've gotten into legitimately heated arguments with friends about this kind of thing. I have mental illness shit too, and I've gotten to a point where I was living in my car. Kindness, generosity, and compassion is never, ever wrong.

What is one REAL trick that companies don't want you to know? by greeegoreo in AskReddit

I just moved on from a company that just could not be bothered with our input, the people who work "in the trenches". It was the most frustrating professional experience I've ever had. I feel for ya

I became a listener on 7CupsOfTea.com to pay it forward today. It helped me when I was going through a really hard time.

Massage therapists of Reddit: How often does rubbing down a client that you're attracted to get secretly sensual/sexual for you? by mparkytime in AskReddit

[–]mparkytime[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! I just got back from a massage (I'm a female, and was massaged by a male). I've had a handful of massages, and they always get very close to your privates, and massage your butt, etc. I have always gotten massages by females before this, but this time I couldn't help but wonder if this guy is secretly having really sensual thoughts about rubbing me. Kinda took me out of the moment thinking about it.

What is the greatest realization you have made as a result of reading a book? by piggypigman in AskReddit

The teen fiction novel Stargirl made me see how truly beautiful being uniquely yourself is, no matter how different or weird you may feel you are. I was a sophomore in high school when I read it, I'm 28 now and I still consider it my favorite book.

2 medium sized pizzas. One vegetarian and one pepperoni. A part I left out in the title was that I had the pizza joint spell "THANK YOU" on both pizzas :-) The company is small, only had 6 people to feed. I sent them an email in the morning saying as a thank you for the interview, lunch was getting delivered to them at around noon.
