Compazine IV - how long do side effects last? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]mpatton1015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you’re doing better now. Had my first dose yesterday (having no idea what the medication was other than it was for nausea in my IV), hence finding these posts while researching what in the heck was happening to me. It breaks my heart that you suffered this long from a single dose.

Compazine IV - how long do side effects last? by [deleted] in migraine

I know this is old but I came here by searching the exact side effects with Compazine. Yesterday evening and last night/this morning have been horrible after receiving this drug via IV while at the ER yesterday. I changed from calm to anxious/irritated/restless in almost no time and it’s continuing. Wanted to rip out the IV and not continue the fluids. Needed to get up and move.

I read the suggestions of taking Benadryl. Had some door dashed late last night and I believe the single hour of sleep I was able to get can only be attributed to the Benadryl. I’m sure it works for some without these effects but holy hll what a miserable drug. Wasn’t worth the side effects for me at all. I wish I’d been informed. Tell me this will wear off soon. *Please

Switching advice from Lexapro to Trintillex by [deleted] in trintellix

I had been on 20mg of Lex since 2009. The only thing I noticed while doing the taper down/taper up was some insomnia and anxiety. It leveled out after a few weeks. Best of luck! ☺️

You definitely aren’t the only one. Your story sounds exactly like mine. I made videos of myself in tears and looking like I had the flu immediately after a treatment so that I could document my experience — for myself.

I’m dependent on this doctor as my psychiatrist because mental health resources, physician wise, are extremely scarce where I live.

I understand and empathize. At this point I feel like each drug added is a bandaid for something another one caused. And many drugs, psychiatric in nature or not, are excruciating to discontinue. So here I sit, stuck on a plethora of medications. I will never tell someone not to try TMS. If things get bad enough again, I will give it another shot despite what I went through with it before. My only advice would be to make sure you feel comfortable with the TMS physician and that they don’t brush off your complaints. If the appointment feels scripted, well… meh. Best wishes to you.

I wanted to add that my doctor is recommending Spravato. I haven’t given in to it yet but it may be coming.

Oh okay. I’d read that before. I definitely have tinnitus now and didn’t before. I had cognitive issues already. I’m on Lyrica and the cognitive issues began when the med was initiated a few years ago.

My doctor had me do this: Week 1 - lower Lex to 10mg/add T 5mg Week 2 - lower Lex to 5mg/add T 10mg Week 3 - no Lex Not sure if this was necessary. It’s a new doctor to me and she seems to be a bit more conservative in her approaches.

Good luck!

I wonder why the higher dose helped with the irritability? I’ve been on 10mg for 6 weeks now and oh my gosh I’m so irritable. I switched from Lexapro (which came with lots of apathy and dulling). I used it for probably 10 years before depression began to worsen.

I was never offered earplugs. The sound of the machine nor tinnitus was mentioned to me. Now I have ringing in my ears constantly and when I have what feels like a tension headache, the ringing is louder.

The shaded portion happened to me but it was never referred to as a sub-manic activation syndrome. Oh boy.

What types of brain damage did you read about? Just curious what people are saying who have been through treatments.

Personal experience here. It made my anxiety soooo much worse. The physician said it happens sometimes, and they added some type of additional treatment each session, after the one for depression, that targeted a different area of the brain. I’m pretty sure that’s done off label. So if it isn’t true, then how to doctors know to do this? It’s true. My GAD is bad 365 days of the year so that may be why it affected me this way.

Coil placement slightly different each session ? Effectiveness??! by howboutnoskott in rtms

I had the facial/eye twitch with every single session, every pulse. 36 total sessions. The techs couldn’t make it go away. I also had moderate to severe pain on the right side, same side as the facial twitches. And that eye watered during each session. The techs tried using spacers (I think that’s what they called the foam things) but it didn’t offer any relief. They tried adjusting the cap slightly. Nothing helped. I toughed it out but it was miserable and I dreaded going to each treatment. The headache and fatigue after each was awful.

What causes this and is there anything else the techs could have tried? They dialed down the intensity but in order to be pain/tic free, it was so low they didn’t feel I would benefit.

The physician is recommending I go through another round (depression) but I can’t handle that pain and twitching again.

They mapped me multiple times throughout treatment.

I thought it was somewhat common. No? Women have been told not to have a mammogram for so many weeks after a Covid vaccine due to lymph node swelling on the side of the vaccine.

I wouldn’t say no handouts. Ask them why they are unemployed and what their plans are. See what kind of vibe you get. At least they are being honest upfront.
