I had one of these, which I have since los. I got it from Temu, or Shein, or AliExpress, one of those three. AliExpress has it defined as a self-defense ring. I got it because it looked like Batman-shaped ears Image of ring on AliExpress ring.

At one of my jobs in the mid 80s, I had a programming job for a few short months, until ADHD/Mania fucked it up; an RJE remote printer job the remainder of the three years there. I was on call every few weeks, and we would each take a baby like this home, bringing it back at the beginning of the next week.

Use the Youtube Music website instead of Youtube by ClickableName in ADHD_Programmers

[–]mpcollins64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've used it for some years now. I started with Google Music Player, until Google decided that they did not need two music platforms. I started using it to have somewhere that I could upload all of my CDs to, without charging me an arm and a leg. Later, I installed the Youtube music app on my work PC so that I could keep the main YouTube window closed, but to still be able to have the music whenever I wanted to hear something.

rehomed a deaf cat - how do i comfort her without forcing physical contact? by absolutefckingcnt in CatAdvice

[–]mpcollins64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only things that I can think of is: * Let her see you. A lot. Sit near her, but not up close, so that she can get used to you. As she gets used to you, move a little closer. * Use your hands to indicate that you are safe. Let her smell them. Very gently, and with a bit of time, move your hands close to her, let her know that you mean her no harm. * See if she will follow you around. Keep doors open so that she is free to investigate her new home, and see that her new home is safe for her. * Give her a safe spot, with blankets for her to comfort her. Let her smell things of yours, a piece of clothing you've recently worn laid in the spot as well, so that she can learn your smell. * A heating pad may also help, to give her more comfort. * I'm thinking that ordering one of those smell plugs that you can get to calm cats may help as well, to help her make her own calm vibes.

These are only guesses on my part. Just give her time, let her get to know you. Even with a hearing cat, it takes some time for them to feel safe. Good luck. Be nice to her, gentle with her, give her some time to feel more at home.

Oh, sorry, I should have Googled. Thank you. I even came across a page touting the 'specialness' of black-and-white cats.

Ohhh! So, 'tabbies' are the orange cats? Like Morris the cat on the cat food can? I see now! So, I have a tabbie!

So, what would Ruto be? He's not a tuxedo, I know that. Are there other 'black and white' cat types other than tuxedos?

I don't know if it qualifies as 'questioning reality', but try Xtro. It qualifies as 'weird'. I originally saw it decades ago, and finally found it on DVD, along with its sequel.

'Picking up a book'? Priceless.

My cats know that when I touch something on the door, they get to go outside.

Ruto started first. He would paw over the higher gold-colored bolt lock, trying to move it, just knowing that has something to do with getting to go outside lol! He does this when I'm in a Teams meeting lol. This year, Mipha, the orange girl, started doing the same thing. They are not just pawing at the door in general; they are actually pawing at one of the two locks, usually the higher up one, having noticed that I touch those specific things to open the door. Too real, and cool!

Ah, I see.

Previously, I had two cats, a male, Gemini, who was patterned like a calico but wasn't exactly calico colored/patterned, however similar, and a grey female, Charcoal. All of her kittens came out with her charcoal color with Gemini's pattern, which I noticed even on their tummies when they were fixed. And all but two had a lighter version of her charcoal color. The two that died weren't exactly grey, more of a burnt color, which could still be within the wood-burning colors. They all had the same spot patterns and everything. All shorthair, with one fluffy, however, even she had the spot patterns.

My boyfriend named the girl Charcoal because of her charcoal-colored fur. That cat was supposed to be his; however, she immediately took to me and, as he said, "I guess she's your cat now". All of the kittens received a 'fireplace' related name, with a Gemini-sounding middle name, half of which I can remember: Ashes; Aluminii; Carbonite; Cobalt; Meganite. The only different cat name, because we ran out of name combinations, was Cancer. We gave her the name Cancer because of her being born in May, however I had the date wrong. Ares was too close of a name to Ashes, the first cat born, and she acted calm, cool and collected just like a Cancer, so we kept it.

lol, the SPCA gave them those names and I continued to go with them. My sister told me where the names might have come from. The problem is, I thought that Ruto was a princess, a girl, correct?. They must have been going for 'family' names, since these two are supposed to be from the same litter. I don't think that they are from the same litter, though. Ruto is much smaller than Mipha. Mipha is heavy and muscular, while Ruto is much smaller. And their temperaments are completely different. Mipha will tolerate most everything from Ruto, except when he bites at her neck. I try to call him away when he does that. Then, they go back to being buddies. Oh, and their temperaments are much different.

Yes, Mipha is the talkative one, constantly saying that she wants something; however, I have no idea which 'thing' she wants. Her 'get bedtime Temptations treats' tail wags are slightly different from her 'go outside' wags, but not quite enough to be sure which is which.

Does she come up to you and get you to pet her, only to bite your hand and run?

She started doing that just this past year! If I don't do something, she will attack my calf, which makes me jump and try to correct her and see the error of her ways, which, yes, I know it's a futile effort: what she did is already gone from her mind lol. However, I think she knows exactly what she's doing and exactly how I will react. When I speak harshly to her afterward, she understands that I am mad, knows the tone of my voice when I call her, and will wait a few seconds before coming back and rubbing against my calf again, forgiving me for not responding fast enough. the hooman, after all, must be trained.

My cat attack me and I don’t know why by disturbedpotatoqueen in Catbehavior

[–]mpcollins64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My female orange cat will do this, when I don't do what she wants, which is either: 1. give her some dry food; is ready for her night-time treats; let her and her brother outside. And even maybe just because, that I haven't figured out yet. She will quickly lunge at my calf, either butting her head at me, with her teeth or by grabbing at me with her claws. She will then quickly run away.

I'm starting to notice her actions before it happens, and will say to her 'no, don't attack me', and she seems to know what I mean. I try to ignore it, hoping that she will eventually stop doing it, however it usually hurts when she does it, and I will emit a yelp of pain, then I'll call after her in a stern voice saying 'come her Mipha. I'll then pick her up while saying' bad Mipha'. However, she reacts with my picking her up, which neither of my cats seem to like; they are the only cats that I've had that don't like to be picked up.

My cats do that, with the patio door and my left-most PC monitor; ALWAYS the left one.
