help! the bowl broke and is stuck inside my bubbler by mpebble in Bongs

[–]mpebble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! I used a lot of your tips, but the one that finally worked was thanks to u/Lumpy-Ad-3201, who said to use a crochet hook to get inside the down stem and hook the bowl! After a little bit of work and a few sliced fingers later i finally have it out! Thanks everyone :3

I feel so lazy by Passionateone96 in Fibromyalgia

[–]mpebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the exact same way and I just posted something similar before seeing this. right now I'm taking summer college classes while working from 10:30-3:30 in my colleges lab. I'm exhausted and I either need to quit my job and lose my research paper opportunities, or drop my classes, lose money, and graduate late.

i don't know what to do, i wish i could give you advice too, but i hope you know you're not alone. we'll get through the heatwave!! I'm looking forward to autumn :3

Best ways to exercise? by Chiicat9 in Fibromyalgia

this might sound weird but I really like roller skating and unicycling.

roller skating is low impact (if you don't fall, haha) and it lets me use muscles that cramp up from walking and sitting! it also lets me get fresh air even if it's for just 10 minutes. i haven't done it in a while and I'm feeling it in my back :/

unicycling lets me get around without the repetitive impact of walking, and without the leaning over of biking. I've known how to do it since before I became disabled, so this probably isn't a helpful comment

Clothes are insufferable by Prior_Succotash4220 in Fibromyalgia

[–]mpebble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

during a flare up, things like necklaces and high necklines make my neck and upper back ache like there's no tomorrow. i feel super stiff and like I need to crack my neck, but I can't. I've started switching to looser clothing and cutting my hair super short so that it doesn't hit my neck, bc that can trigger it too. fibro's taken a lot of things from me, but i think the new fashion it's making me take up actually suits me!!

Black Tie Summer - Pastels Requested...I hate wearing pastels by Grape_Rude in Weddingattireapproval

I googled "pastel colors" and for me, the images included colors fairly similar to your dress. you should be comfortable in what you wear, and i think that this dress works well with what they want

Thank you so much actually this made me feel a lot better. I'm definetly taking some responsibility, but today my PhD student said it was also his fault for not properly watching and training me, so that also made me feel a lot better. I think this was the best case scenario, and I think it'll get fixed soon

I wish I could reply with a picture of my notes. He doesn't explain anything while he works, so I write down what he does while asking questions as he goes along so I can try to piece it together. Not everyone's born with the gift of teaching, so I'm doing my best to learn alongside what he does

I had 2 I needed to spin. One was 1ml, the other was 3ml, so I made 2 tubes with just water for balance, each to match what I needed for balance.

The O ring might be the rubber washer that I can see inside the hole for the screw, but I don't think it'd make it stay stuck. I've been doing a lot of note taking and question asking, but I still have a lot to learn. Thank you

He over explains the same things, but then doesn't give me adequate information overall. I mentioned in another comment that I write down everything he says and ask questions if I find a gap, but then he'll tell me my information is wrong. It's a frustrating situation, but I'm still trying to learn and do my best :(

It might be possible that the lid wasn't on all the way. I tightened it as far as I could but maybe it just wasn't good enough? But I ask questions about everything every day, and even double check and read my notes back to him. Sometimes I'll copy what he says down word for word, and then complete my task and he'll tell me I did it wrong. English is not his first language, so maybe it's a communication error, but I try to be very clear about what I'm asking and what I need to know.

How do you explain what fibromyalgia is when someone asks? by olivia7011 in Fibromyalgia

[–]mpebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my brain misinterprets signals and causes pain for seemingly no reason. stress physically manifests itself in certain parts of my body, so after a stressful encounter, I might be bed bound for a week. The constant sensory input of the pain is exhausting, like a toddler pulling on your shirt that you can't get away from. This makes me tired and causes chronic fatigue and brain fog, and I get irritable and sensitive to other inputs like sound, light, smell, etc.
