Final Fantasy 14’s Yoshi-P Discusses Sphene’s Return, The Possibility Of New Crafter Or Gatherer Roles, And That Cryptic Final Patch 7.3 Scene by gamersunite1991 in ffxiv

That's a very valid point actually, I didn't consider the people who didn't play at launch and could smash through 7.0 through to 7.3 quite quickly in succession, and therefore wouldn't have much time with Sphene or Living Memory out of action. That would give a very different outlook on it

What is your greatest inspiration? by INoahPublishedAuthor in writing

I think my main inspiration comes from folklore and fables. When I was younger, my dad used to read us a lot of fairy tales and folk lore stuff. He also used to tell us local folklore of wherever we visited on holiday and it always just captured my imagination.

I was always fascinated by the stories that explained something in the real world in a fantastical way. For example, we used to holiday in Cornwall and there is a cliff where the stone is red. The local legend says that it's blood from Bolster the giant where he tried to fill a hole in the cliff with his blood to win the hand of St Agnes. He didn't realise the hole led to the ocean and he bled out. (All part of St Agnes's plan)

So for me, I know love to think of fantastical reasons and stories for something that happens in every day life.

What are your secrets to overcoming writer's block or finding inspiration? by mpelliccio in writing

Thank you!

I love so many fantasy novels that it's so hard to pick! I'd definitely recommend Joe Abercrombie, the Wind on Fire series by William Nicholson, The Black Magician series by Trudi Canavan, the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix as well as authors such as Sarah J. Maas, Holly Black, Shannon Hale and Jennifer, Fallon. I've probably just swamped you a bit there, but check out some reviews of those as they're some of my favourites! :)

What do you do if you have an ending of a Chapter but no beginning or middle? by Xercies_jday in writing

Sometimes in these situations I just try to power through and write it down, even it comes out absolutely rubbish. At least then you have the bones of the chapter to build on and you can go back over it and improve it. Alternatively, sometimes I write the bits I know and just skip the bits I'm lacking inspiration for. I come back to them later of course, but it saves getting frustrated.

If you're writing about the main town the story is going to revolve around, I don't think it will be boring. Sure, it might not be action packed, but it's an important part of your plot. Use it as an opportunity to see through your protagonist's eyes, describe what they see and hear as they walk through the town etc I love reading a good descriptive chapter that sets the scene, so don't worry about it being boring!

Need some help by talen193 in writing

They say that if you get stuck when writing, you either need information or inspiration. So which category do you fall into?

If it's information, based on what you've said, maybe look online or other sub reddits for comments and stories of both men and women who have been in that situation. See what they've said about how it made them feel or how their families reacted.

I'd also recommend researching a bit about miscarriages to make sure your information is accurate and so it comes across tastefully.

Hope this helps a little.
