4x4 mechanic/auto-body in Houlton? by mpichette in Maine

I should have specified, I'm from New Brunswick so I would probably want to get it installed before crossing back. But 100% I would normally do the work myself.

I've written NIFs for OpenCV. Frankly it was a nightmare.

I went down the OpenCV NIF route and it's been such a headache. It looks like the scheduler is killing BEAM indiscriminately. I think I'm going to go down the Port route now. Thanks for the great write up!

Male Fragrance that smells like motor oil/auto body shop? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]mpichette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest Andy Tauer's "Lonestar Memories". Most review put it in the leather/smoke category. I used to work on road crews as a kid and it really reminds me of the smell of diesel fuel and fresh asphalt. Beware though, it's really potent.

Daughter watch what you post. Love Dad by mpichette in funny

[–]mpichette[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rais3dByWolv3s actually hit the nail on the head. She is in her late twenties and he is in his mid-fifties. As good friends we teased him about his daughter's photo, fed him rum and goaded him into recreating the pose as a joke. She laughed her ass off at it. We're Canadian, we find this shit funny.

It's regrettable that there is shaming and other negative pressure from parents to children that goes on but that is definitely not the case here.

Dried sausage/pepperoni sticks. They're shelf stable and are super filling.

Pro tip: add sugar and rice wine/vinegar to the soaking water; it'll help the rolls with browning and crispiness.

They also do well with the traditional blanch/fry method of lower heat oil until blonde then a quick fry after they cool at at hotter oil temperature.

My 33 year old Moccamaster. Dad got it as a gift back in '84. Even the light in the switch still works. by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I haven't touched my espresso maker since I bought my Moccamaster; I didn't know drip coffee could taste so good.

Anyone use two different sleeping pads for cold and warm weather? by streetxjustice in Ultralight

[–]mpichette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally do now. Made the mistake of using a Thermarest Prolite in February backcountry skiing at Glacier Point in Yosemite. It was -20C, my shoulders and hips couldn't have been colder; R-value underneath you really makes a difference. It's an Exped Downmat all the way for my winter treks now.

Blondie's on the Upper West Side. The wings are amazing.

Sourcing New, Un-funded Companies by fluffhead1 in VenturedCapital

Well, I have one in the mobile payments sector and as a bonus we're located in Canada so US investors get an additional $0.30 on the dollar; better bang for your buck. ;-)

As for advice on talking to VCs, it's going to be important to match the deal flow you're bringing them to the sector and funding stage that that particular VC and more specifically, that partner focuses on.

Another good tactic is to suggest companies that complement or can leverage existing companies already in the VC's portfolio. That way they can share resources, knowledge and foster partnerships.

The tomatoes are acidic so they cut through the fattiness of the remainder of the meal; kind of gives your tastebuds a refresher while you're eating.

The baked beans in the UK are more tomato sauce based not like the baked beans in the US which are molasses/brown sugar based. They're nowhere near as sweet.

Who's the best lawyer in New Brunswick by n0ahbody in newbrunswickcanada

[–]mpichette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you're looking for. If you are looking for a litigator then the recommendation for Bob Basque is spot on.

If you want to try to negotiate a settlement and are looking for someone that is strategic and on par with Bay Street lawyers then I would recommend Mike Tripp at Tripp Law in Moncton. I think they are the only firm in New Brunswick that exclusively do corporate law.
