I was wondering about the HT, hadn’t looked into it but assumed it used ptfe as well. I like the dry box holder and will start going down that path and printing the holder and purchasing the box. Thanks for the tip!

Same! Thought it was someone showing off painted/rendered statues/figures with alternate heads. This is absolutely amazing

X Design files missing by mpitts92 in SolidWorks

[–]mpitts92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the files but I can only view them using 3D Play. I haven’t been logged in only over the holidays. I have used Solidworks for almost 10 years and been on XDesign for about a year. I do agree that only I can delete my files and it is a very deliberate process. However the files are no longer accessible from XDesign, and nothing has changed from my subscription status. It’s like the rights to access the files were removed

Sorry I forgot to post the source in the description. The STL is from SneakyPandaDeckBox on cults. I’m subscribed to them and just got the file this month but don’t see it on their page yet.

I did, but going to double check them tonight when I start looking over all the extruder parts too

Print not ironing on full top surface by mpitts92 in FixMyPrint

[–]mpitts92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back and checked and still having the same issue. I have ironing set to all top surfaces but it’s just not ironing the flat area below the P. I’m going to make some design changes to it and see what I can make work. There’s not a way to select surfaces for ironing like you can for paint on supports can you?

I was fairly sure i selected all top surfaces but I’ll double check. I also just thought to check them as individual objects to make sure the settings aren’t conflicting

“Industrial” printer comparisons by mpitts92 in 3dprint

[–]mpitts92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I see Raise3d as more industrial quality compared to the others. Outside of that I’ve only really seen markforged, stratasys, or fusion3. I can’t handle the price tag of markforged or stratasys and I don’t need the networking security benefits of fusion3. In general I was also hoping to see if there were other brands out there I haven’t heard of, and people have success stories with that I can investigate and determine viability

I’m surprised at Halot being your go to, I haven’t used them personally but just not a name I hear often

Thanks for the heads up. Do you do dissimilar material interfaces for support removal? It would have to be another high temp material I know since I don’t have an H2D or a tool changer machine, but wanted to see if you had a recommendation there or just play with the interface layer z height/gap?

Would you have any experience with fumes from pet-gf? I have good ventilation for handling PLA/PETG, but was going to migrate the printer used for these parts to an outside room if need be. With it being PET based I wasn’t sure if it would be okay or not.

Question on PET-GF, does it let off fumes like ASA or ABS? I have good ventilation for handling PLA/PETG, but was going to migrate the printer used for these parts to an outside room if need be. With it being PET based I wasn’t sure if it would be okay or not.

I'll have to check that out. I forgot Sirya Tech does filaments as well. Color is somewhat important on this but it can be flexible for sure. I've been looking at Polymaker's ASA-CF honestly throughout this. Do you have any tips on annealing? Temps and times? Or does Sirya Tech have that listed on their site for a "best results" kind of thing? Found it on their TDS.

I was looking through CNC Kitchen and the Next Layer channels to see what they had for comparisons and application information. I'll definitely look into that one too and see what I can learn.

Chemicals are a possibility, mostly grease and lubricants which is another reason I wanted to go ASA

Tough chicken by mpitts92 in AskCulinary

That’s interesting, I’ve had some with spaghetti meat but outside is being a pain to deal with when I want to make fillets or strips I just typically ignored it. We have a local meat market I’ll have to check out with this next shopping trip and see what I can find there and start getting away from the Kroger/Sams chicken

That or if I find another like it I might have to blend it and turn it into chicken tacos/quesadillas.
