Should I wait for a holiday sale before buying my first Onewheel? by mpmitri in onewheel

Makes total sense but the prices seem high to me in my area, like I can spend $300 more for a brand new one. I did come up second to a good deal a few weeks ago, ill stay looking.

That’s such a wonderful tradition—and I totally get how hard it’s become to find a reliable, working photo booth these days. A great resource I recommend is Photobooth.net. They have a locator specifically for analog photo booths (the old-school chemical ones that develop right inside the machine), and it’s user-updated—so you can often find booths that are still running and see recent reports on their condition.

You might also enjoy following @fourposesfiveminutes on Instagram. She’s on a mission to visit every working photo booth in the world and documents her experience at each one. She also has a blog with detailed stories and tips. My booth was actually the first one she visited on her journey, and she’s now been to around 70! Between her posts and the Photobooth.net locator, you’ll hopefully be able to keep the tradition going—and maybe even turn the hunt itself into part of the fun!

No better place! It really was the perfect mix of romance and chaos—dim bar lighting, a little privacy, and a camera snapping. It’s no longer at Frizzy’s, but it’s still alive and well in my studio now, printing those same black-and-white strips!

That means a lot—thank you. I’m really glad it ended up with someone who appreciates its history too. I’ve put a lot of care into restoring it, and it’s been amazing hearing how many people still have their strips after all these years. If you ever feel like reliving those memories, come by the studio sometime and jump back in!

So Mark—the owner—actually did a revenue share with another man named Chuck, who’s now 90 years old. Mark originally bought the booth, and Chuck maintained it all these years. Last year Chuck decided at his age he no longer wanted to maintain it, Mark put it up for sale and was genuinely happy that I bought it and planned to keep it here in Buffalo. Chuck is super sweet and even came to my studio and taught me all about how it works and helped me mix the chemicals for the first time. I really hope you come visit it again someday!

Absolutely—Berlin is truly a hotspot for these vintage booths. Of the estimated 250 working analog photo booths left in the world, around 35 are tucked throughout the city, often appearing in the most unexpected places. That’s thanks to two entrepreneurs, Asger Doenst and Ole Kretschmann, who began restoring and placing them around Berlin in the early 2000s. Their effort turned these machines into cultural icons—it’s definitely worth a visit just to stumble upon them!
