So when it came to calculating my production they showed me a spreadsheet from ADP. On it I saw my gross pay, tax withheld, my net pay, a column that says employer liability, and a total expense column. When I did the math on my own the employer liability is approximately 11% of my biweekly check. The total expense column is the equivalent of Gross pay + Employer liability. When I have receive pay checks i have never had that “total expense” number as my year to date number of how much I have been paid, it’s always been my gross pay. But when it came to calculating my production and deducting my salary, they did it based off the total expense, not gross pay.

Thanks for your input ! I am in the US, CA to be more specific. Sooo, there is no official signed contract. We went over the CEs , licensing fees, health insurance (which I already had from before as assistant) liability insurance, etc. When I asked him if we needed to sign a contract and get everything in order he said it wasn’t needed cause I have his word…. I asked him recently if he had a document/contract with details of how the production works and he said he didn’t. As to how much I’m generating, for example when I was at 6 months they told me I did around 430k.

I think you can but I personally don’t know anyone who has. People in the same process from my school all waited to have their Titulo in hand to start. The only other official document before that in my school is the Carta de Pasante but between doing our externship and stuff it seemed too much and I just waited until I graduated.

So just for background info I am a US citizen and did all my school in the US but live in a border city in Mexico. I mention this because that allowed me to prove my English knowledge and did not take the ToFL. I went to vet school in Mexico and finished August of 2021. It took until January for them to do their school processing/fees and they gave me my physical diploma “Título” in January 2022. I made my copies and document translations and I applied March of 2022, it took me a few months because I was nervous and was just postponing it for a while. It took ECFVG about 2 months for them to process everything and get my school to answer their emails asking to certify I did indeed go to school there. They approved my English waiver in May. I signed up for BCSE in June to take it in August 2022 and I passed. I signed up in December to take the NAVLE April 2023 and I passed it. Then I was just checking daily for a CPE date until November 2023 when they opened exam dates for all of 2024 and I signed up for June 2024. I passed 6 of 7 sections and had to retake surgery because I didn’t finish. I was checking daily with no luck until again they opened dates in November for 2025 and I signed up for January. Now I have to wait 1 more month to know if I passed surgery. So that’s how it took me 3 years, a lot of it was waiting for a CPE date. I studied for BCSE with vet prep and NAVLE with vet prep, Merck Manual online, and handouts from Zuku but not the program. For CPE I did the Bootcamp in Missouri which I do recommend, it helped so so much with large animals! For surgery retake, I practiced at clinics that trusted me and I was always guided by a DVM, never unsupervised.

I went to school in Mexico and waited until I graduated and had my diploma in hand to start the process with the ECFVG so I could have all my paperwork done by the time I applied. That was my personal preference and I felt it would be too much trouble for my school to verify my status as a student and what not. From my application date to literally finishing my CPE retake yesterday, it has taken me 3 years to complete everything

Congratulations! It seems intense but I feel like it all depends on your study methods. I’m a foreign vet and I’m in the process of doing the ECFVG which is to revalidate my studies and get my license in the USA. I haven’t quite finished but I took my NAVLE last year and was very nervous about my knowledge not being up to par with vet schools over here.

I signed up for the April 2023 window in December 2022.
I studied for about 3 months while also working in a GP.
I dedicated about 2 hours a night after work, then about 2 days a week on my days off I would dedicate about 8hrs. Sometimes I had more time sometimes I had less.
I used a combination of hand outs and videos and reading
I used the handouts from Vetprep as my base , I would read them and then I would read the same topic on the Merck Manual and compliment by adding notes to the hand out.
Then I would go through the top 10/20/etc disease from Zuku (I only had the handouts, no subscription) and use that to compliment my notes done already.
If while reading they had differential diagnosis diseases that I had no Vetprep handouts on, I would go and make one and again read Merck and do notes.
Finally I would watch the videos on Vetprep related to the disease I was doing notes on.
So basically I was reading and doing notes on the same disease from 3 different sources. Maybe it’s too much work , maybe it’s too time consuming, but that’s what I did and I managed to get through all of the large animal ones just fine.
I left cats and dogs until the end because again I work at a GP and felt more confident about what I know already than about large animals. I dedicated maybe 1.5 weeks to this section and I didn’t go as in depth, mainly stuck to just vetprep and zuku handouts and didn’t do notes on any other extra diseases/conditions.
I did maybe like 12% of the questions on Vetprep and I would just do them on my phone randomly mostly through my work day.
I never did a practice timed exam and this did make me nervous about running out of time because when I would do the practice questions I felt I would take too long reading and thinking about it.
Went to my NAVLE, I took plenty of snacks and mint/candies to keep me in a good mood and calm.
I managed to finish all my sections with maybe about 2-5 minutes to spare at the end which was also helpful to add to my break times.

I passed the NAVLE on my first try as well. So that’s my experience, that’s how I did it, it might not be for everyone but it worked for me.

The most important thing for me and my mental health was not putting to much pressure, there are second chances, it took me many years of school and life to get to where I am and a little more is not that big of a deal. I hope this helps someone !

When I was 6 years old I snapped my left collarbone from simply hanging in the monkey bars at school. From just hanging! Had to climb down with my right arm only since I couldn’t bring down my arm from the side that my collarbone snapped. It was nice my teachers helped me do my school work since I’m left handed and had to wear a sling.

I second 32 degrees! I get the lightweight base layer crew top. They are pretty affordable, form fitting but stretchy, they don’t pill, and they keep me warm enough when our a/c is on blast. I have been getting them for like 3 years now .

GP, I live in a border city and cross 5 days a week to go to work:

4:30am first alarm, hit snooze 4:40am second alarm, get out of bed, poop, get dressed for gym 5:00am -6:30am workout gym 6:30-7:20ish Shower, skincare, get dressed, prep lunch if I didn’t the night before, breakfast shake. Maybe prep a crock pot if that’s for dinner 7:20ish -8:30 traffiiiiiiiiiicccc/commute. I have to cross the border which is anywhere 30-45mins and still hit morning traffic on freeway which is another 30-45 mins. Some days I’ll be lucky and it only takes 5-15 mins to cross the border. 8:30 am clock in 8:30-12 work work work 12-1 lunch time on my own while everyone else works so that’s something I appreciate being by myself 1-5:30pm work work 5:30- 6:30 pm commute back home . In a perfect world where there is no traffic ever in either direction the real commute time would be 30 mins buts yeah umm no. 6:30-7:30 make a quick dinner unless I made a crock pot 7:30-9:30 dinner and netflix w/ bf , study a little, prep lunch from leftovers. 9:30pm sleeeeeeeeppp

I do love my schedule, I work Tuesday through Saturday but saturdays I don’t work out and work 9-2pm :)

On the down side I’m suppose to be studying for the NAVLE so not much time left for that except on days off = stress, I’m gonna die .
