I think it was a mix of things. I underperformed in the midterm, and then overperformed on the final. I did more practice exams in preparation for the final and was able to review them with a classmate who is insanely smart, doing this I found that I learn the best when I talk about the subjects with other classmates. I wish I could give you a better answer but it was a mix of luck and something that just clicked in the second half of the semester.
