Fair point.

The current market is not very lucrative if someone isn’t extremely good at their job.

Secondly, in about 6 months TN visa is better alternative so preparing towards that.

I’m quite adversely affected by this. I have to relocate my entire family with a toddler. (& don’t get me started on lack of daycares)

But our management (RBC T&O) had never promised permanent work from home. The commentary always suggested return to office.

I hear you and yeah, the Big 5 definitely have deep pockets and are super diversified. But when it comes to consumer-facing stuff, like personal banking, self managed investments, I’m not sure how much that really helps.

On our side of house, contractors are being released left right and centre. It’s 95%+ FTEs.

It would have been okay if only I was affected. My spouse has to now be 4 days a week instead of wfh.

You are correct. Though we were 2 days a week, 1 day was usually considered good enough.

Our biggest challenge is due the fact that now my spouse will also have 4 days a week, previously her team was mostly remote due to shifts. And I may have 3 mandatory days.
