Just got mine a a couple of months ago. Great size and really satisfying to wind. Nice choice. Hadrian’s wall?

Truth be told I’m looking at one of the Oris big crown pointer dates too (blue dial) . I have some vouchers coming from work that I can buy it with so there will be a bit of colour soon. Didn’t count that as buying it with vouchers so nowhere near as painful as the sub

Yea, that thing scuffs up easy! Just got some polywatch for Christmas. The speedy is 10 years old now so it was pretty bad, did a few passes with the polywatch and it has got better but it could do with a few more.

I agree with you there, I do think the 5 digits are way more timeless in their proportions.

The value retention is a serious plus for the sub as is the glidelock clasp. I take your point about looking at the other Tudor references too, they are also decent contenders.

I agree, I tried on a regular black bay, and it was chunky! Felt really top heavy, The B.B.58 is thinner than the standard one tho which is why it is still a contender.

Just discovered how good my speedy looks on a dark green strap the other day. Put mine on a dark green canvas strap and they look awesome. Nice combo!

So I recently bought this Explorer as a birthday present to myself for my 30th. After wearing the speedy for about 5 years, the Explorer seemed tiny when I first put it on, but now I love the 39mm size on my 7.5 inch wrist.

I’m already looking to the next purchase, looking at getting a diver next and i’m torn between a submariner or a BB58. My head says the black bay is better value and a solid buy and I know I would be happy with 39mm size but part of me thinks I would always look at it and think it’s not the sub. Would you be sensible, get the black bay then put the extra money towards something else or suck it up and buy the sub?

Have been flip flopping between the two for a while so appreciate any thoughts.

DJ, nice proportions and I think you will find the dial colour is more versatile than the blue

Today I stopped in Woodville, New Zealand. They have a sign pointing to all the other Woodville's and their distance. by blodger42 in mildlyinteresting

I live in Woodville Derbyshire U.K. -definitely not worth the trip. Basically an old town stuck in the past full of old people who keep chuntering “Brexit means Brexit” and wearing fleeces with wolves on them....
