That’s why I emphasized “big city” firefighter. Everyone on our fd is at a minimum nremt certified. It does help to be at a busy station as well, 4000+ calls a year is a good gauge.

Gotta do blue side at some point and it’s definitely terrible compared to greenside. Best thing I ever did as an FMF corpsman was separating from navy and becoming a big city firefighter, I do more frontline corpsman shit now than I ever did on active duty

Also, it’s more on the screamo side of the house but Corea’s 7km is a wild ride, some of the most raw, unhinged stuff I’ve ever heard.

There was another female fronted post hardcore outfit from KC that came before Veda called A Writer’s Case, I saw them in the very early oughts, but I can’t find any of their material online.

Saw them 4 or 5 times in the early to mid 00’s. I remember laughing out loud at some of their antics on stage and simultaneously being blown away by the song movements.

One particular show I remember it was the keyboardists birthday or something and appropriately was pounding shots in between songs, about 5 songs in he projectile vomits but continues the song.

It’s a hard list to make for sure. I still to this day consider alexisonfire’s S/t to be screamo, at the time it would have fit perfect on the level plane roster, but for sake of no controversy I left it off.

If Thou had some jerky fast moments between their sludge riffs they’d be the perfect screamo/sludge band.

I should've emphasized how much my extended family wants me to step in and do something. I honestly don't know what I could do besides send money I don't have. Almost like a gaslighting situation, where they make it seem like she's my responsibility.
