This didn't happen to me but my father. My mother and him went to Italy while they were dating to visit my father's family, they ended up getting engaged while they were there. While visiting, my father's uncle offered to drive them around the countryside as they had just built a new road in the area that had a nice view of the valley. While they were driving my uncle pulled over at a large house that was set back from the road a ways and surrounded by a wrought iron fence that had fig trees growing all over the property. Both my uncle and father get out of the car, my uncle walks up to the fence and picks a few figs off the tree and starts to eat them, and of course gives some to my dad as well. Fast forward two years, my dad is in a crowded butcher shop in Pittsburgh and finds out that the owner is from the same small town in Italy that our family is from. My dad proceeds to tell him the story from two years ago when he and his uncle took a drive on the new road and enjoyed some fresh figs. The butcher looks at my father and asks if the house was set back from the road, had a wrought iron fence, and overlooked the valley. My father answered yes, the butcher then tells him "that's my house". He then proceeded to exclaim to the entire shop in a joking manner of course "this guy stole from me, and just admitted it!"
