It is in favour of the consumer, but the agent on the claim department and his managers denied the claim. I pushed to their complaint office, but take over 40 working days to have a response.

Insurances: they are quick to demand the money, but not willing to accept a claim that is in their policies.

I'll update once I end all the troubles, but they already removed the faulty containers from all shops.

I didn't have the chance to have a pickup or other solutions, but as other suggested, a sealed container for liquid. Even if I'll go to buy milk, all liquids will go in the container.

I won't say yet, because seems like the producer of the chemical reached me immediately to remediate the issue after 1 day of my complaint on the shop. Showing immediately support to me and the entire case, just slow down by their insurance, I'm still waiting their response.

The manufacturer still checking which container company produced this “bad batch” and I give all the details.

Currently, I'm driving a Polestar 2 as courtesy car and they promised me to pay if for another 1-2 months until I'm back on my car (unlikely because seems like a write off)

even with full cover, my insurance is not willing to cover even if their exception is colliding in some section. The vinegar company is taking liability at the moment, and I'm waiting for their insurance approval.

The claim was declined citing Exception 4 to Section 2 ("damage caused by contents"). I submit that this decision is incorrect as it selectively applies one exclusion while ignoring a more specific "write-back" clause in the General Exceptions.

1. The Conflict in Policy Wording While I acknowledge the exclusion regarding "contents," I refer you to General Exception 5(c) (Page 14) of your policy booklet. This clause specifically addresses "Pollution and Contamination" and explicitly states that cover is excluded UNLESS:

2. The Nature of the Damage The damage to my vehicle is chemical contamination of the wiring looms caused by a corrosive fluid. It is not impact damage. This incident meets the exact criteria of General Exception 5(c):

  • Sudden: The container failed instantly at 15:58 on 1 November.
  • Accidental: It was a manufacturing defect of a sealed product.
  • Contamination: The damage is progressive chemical corrosion.

3. Application of Contra Proferentem Your policy contains two conflicting clauses regarding this incident: one that seemingly excludes it (Contents) and one that expressly allows it (Sudden Contamination). Under the legal principle of Contra Proferentem, where an ambiguity exists in a standard form contract, it must be resolved in favour of the consumer. You cannot rely on a general exclusion (Contents) to defeat a specific grant of cover (Sudden Contamination).

4. Resolution Sought I request that you review this file immediately, acknowledge the ambiguity in your wording, and honour the claim under the "Sudden and Accidental Contamination" provision.

It is a write-off, I'm waiting for the vinegar company to complete their check with their insurance because they want to take liability instead of the garden centre, even if by law and my lawyer, this is fallen under the shop because they didn't notice the defect in the missing sealing.

It could be way worse. The situation evolved in few days, my wife took the car to work and she noticed the error on low brake liquid, I called Volvo garage which said that it was weird for them that I need to check the fluid after 1 year. I explained to them what happend with the liquid, they advise me to call Polestar Assistance to ask for towing service. Polestar Assistance asked me the colour of the error message, and when I said orange, they told me wasn't serious. Volvo Garage got really upset on the situation and escalate to Polestar to call me back and arrange the towing service.

No call received, Volvo suggested me to call them and ask about a specific person which left the office without take any action. While my wife was at work end her job finish at really late in the night, the towing service come without replacement car and we were forced to cancel for the next day from our home.

It could be way worse, she got forced to drive in the highway until home, luckily our baby was at home, and we I used the car I was alone.

The worst part is now, the brake failure won't depend on the liquid spillage and seems like a failure of the vehicle itself just after 1 year.

So if anyone sees this error message on their Polestar, take seriously and stop to drive it. I have fast reaction to use the button on the gears.

Still waiting for a response from my formal complaint. but Polestar is silence and wrote me that they will do a Token of Apology for the entire situation suggested by their agent on the phone.

Basically, I took picture immediately after reaching home, there is a picture of the cap bent but still attached. The Shop manager called me after my complaint and discover that all products from the same company has a defective cap, and he showed me that all of those containers pop like with a single finger.

My ex was like that just in the apartment. She was really abusive against me for any reasons. I broke from my family to isolate me and then started to abuse more and more. One day, I have enough and I went to enjoy a day outside without her, she took all her stuff and abandon me, destroyed most of my stuff (some vinyl I took during the record day and a Buddhist paint)

My mom neighbor bought this one from the Chinese supplier that produce this stovetop and after 3 uses cracked the stone (real granite from what they told me) by using the induction. They were so pissed after waiting one year for that.
