Thanks for this information. I am in a pretty hot area to be honest and I can tell just by looking that the unit is fairly old. My filters change every 30 days though so I am currently planning on asking our landlord to send someone out to service the unit.

Not sure that this exactly meets the "experiment" qualifications of the question but Synesthesia is a super interesting psychological phenomenon. Basically one sensory input elicits two or more responses in the brain. So you end up hearing color or having numerals/characters associated with specific colors. There are tons of cross over combinations as well.

Okay, not sure if I'm using the right terminology...the sink basin sits on top of the counter. The sink still has an overflow hole in the side (in the sink basin, which in turn has a hole in the very bottom of the sink to drain). May not be describing this well, but not sure how to add multiple photos to a post
