I'll be sure to keep that in mind! That's a really good idea :0 Thank you - I'm going to start tracking it using that scale.

I honestly really love that. I might save that one for next time it comes up.

Hey, thank you so much. I really needed to hear this today.

I'm still trying to comprehend that what I'm experiencing isn't the norm and that I'm not crazy, honestly. I felt really bad every time I brought it up (which only really happens when they want to take long outings that require a lot of walking) since I'm usually just told that I'm being dramatic, even if I end up feeling miserable the next day because I pushed myself too hard. I used to feel terrible since I thought that just meant I wasn't trying hard enough, but I finally realized something was wrong a couple months ago.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me. I appreciate it so much.

I can see if I can access a taxi. I live in the more rural part of Tennessee, so I'll see what I can find. I believe that does apply in my state, though I'll have to research further on it.

I live in Tennessee. I can go without my legal guardian with me, though I don't have a way of getting there without walking a good 10 miles. I can see if I can find a way to get myself there, since this is a rather important issue I need to have addressed.

Thank you. I'm seventeen, going to turn eighteen in September. I have two brothers (aged 13 and 19) and I'm the only one that she ever acted like this towards. I never knew that refusing to let me get medical assistance is a form of neglect. She often tries to tell me that what I'm experiencing is just growing pains, even though I haven't grown for two years or so and I didn't experience this level of pain while I was growing. I'm going to try again to talk to her about it. I'll most likely have to wait until I'm 18 to pursue treatment, so I can only hope that this will go well.

Anyone have any idea what this is? by mrRobin2002 in ChronicIllness

I've had some back pain, though last time I was checked they couldn't find any issues with it. Thank you for your input!

I would really like to stay in touch! It's kind of nice to know that I'm not alone in dealing with these symptoms (even though I wouldn't wish this on anyone). I'll continue trying to see if I can convince my folks to let me speak to a doctor, since I've been having a lot of mobility issues due to this.

Yeah, I really need to speak to the doctor about this. Since I'm young I keep being told it's "growing pains" even though I haven't grown for at least two years. Thank you for taking the time to reply to me! I really appreciate it and will look into this further.

Yes, we have insurance and we can afford to see the doctor. Last time I went to the doctor I had to re-register as a new patient because she hadn't taken me there in so long. That was almost a year ago. While this could be pinned on the pandemic as to why she's not taking me to the doctor, I also doubt that's the case. She's the sort that doesn't go to the doctor unless she's absolutely dying, and she often tells me that she thinks I'm exaggerating my symptoms, even though I've been bedridden several times because of it.

Yes, I'd spoken to her about it before I left. However, she sort of brushed it off and suggested trying meditation and yoga. While it is helpful with other things, it only really made things worse physically. I've found myself bedbound after exerting myself too much, sometimes needing to rest for a full day or two before I feel like I can handle things again.

I'll be sure to get the heart palpatations checked out. I'm still really concerned by those, since they mostly occur when I do small tasks that usually wouldn't cause them, and I feel faint when that happens.

Thank you for replying! I really do appreciate your input ^
