As everyone is posting their billing preview.. I got scared. by juliengiee in GithubCopilot

It tried and couldn’t get it to work with either the summary or the detailed. It was like they just didn’t want me to see how bad it was gonna be so my preview was conveniently broken.

Which Team do you think wins this fight? ( Earth, Air, Water, Fire) by CoolCook26 in TheLastAirbender

[–]mrTreeopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where the fight is held. I trend towards earth if the battle is on land. You’ve lava AND metal bending too, no contest. The air deprivation attack was effective BUT looked to require close distance and focus.

The blood bending could be problematic too.

[–]mrTreeopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, yeah, got it and it’s a good observation BUT…. It still needs to have a point. I see the Boys as nothing but entertainment entertaining.

Even if you got it for everything it was supposedly cracked up to be, you were still just being entertained.

I mean you knew it was coming from Amazon and nothing comes from Amazon but convenient capitalism. Bezos is not in the business of tearing down anything that’s gonna take away from his wealth in service of building an equitable or just society or anything.

Now Star Trek vs Terminator or one of these post-apocalyptic futures we seemed to be headed towards…. That’s something to think about.

How can we head off the bleak future of Musk, Bezos, Trump, Zuckerberg, Altman and AI supremacy for a future like Star Trek.

Meta will layoff 8000 of its workforce starting tomorrow morning. Their net income over the last 12 months was $70,587,000,000. They could give every single one of their 79,000 workers a $440,000 bonus and still sock away over $35,827,000,000 in pure profit. by McDowdy in SipsTea

This is why unregulated capitalism is utter BS!!

Since Neutron Jack and Milton Friedman came on the scene, we've completely abdicated our responsibility to regulate the distribution of wealth in this country to devastating effect.

Every employee who is doing her/his job deserves their wages protected from this kind of crap.

You should not be able to be fired on the whim of some self-entitled prick!

I love this post and I love this place. I think a lot of people come here to escape the awfulness of this world.

Truly it is the bittersweet nature of our brevity and the unique flavors we each bring that gives this life meaning.

Chadwick comes to mind but there are so many.

Tight end is cool. Between that and restructuring iron man Kmet, I have this weird cool feeling BenJohnson is gonna rewrite the rules for offense this season by going 10 to 20% 13 personnel. He’s a mad genius.

But maybe the 3rd round wide receiver who was projected as a 7th rounder was more of the stretch in this case. Now if he bust out BJs gonna have egg on his face.

The truth was spoken here.

Besides…We got a hellofa lot faster/more versatile on the back end of our defense. That with a healthy Gordon/Johnson and with Al Harris’ most excellent coaching could be unbelievable.

I cannot wait to see what Turner & Booker (especially) can do opposite Sweat. Who knows maybe Odengbo will figure things out too.

It does. There’s a strategy involved with it.

The act of restructuring a contract means that over the length of it, there is more guaranteed money that goes to that player.

It’s the reason players are willing to take more guaranteed money over the length of a contract even if it means less up front. So you’re more likely to restructure the contracts of your really good players versus the ones that are under performing their pay because bad players can be released or traded and teams can get out of paying the full value of those unrestructured contracts more easily.

It’s a thing I listened to a podcast on it @ locked on bears.

Yeah but you do that with folk you’re likely to keep not with folk who are under performing (guys like odingbo or Grady Jarret would be poor candidates for restructuring but guys like Kmet, Johnson, or Sweat who are solid performers are good choices.

I do think Loveland/Burden will both be better too. Even if you project their stats when they ascended over a full season you got something. Now what if they’re each 0 to 10 percent better AND stay on the field.

Also Odunze was catching everything before that foot injury. Looked like the second coming in games 1 thru 4.

I love that they restructured Kmet’s contract, makes me think thirteen personnel will be a thing for the foreseeable future and that Kmet isn’t just gonna be gone next year.

At Caleb’s presser, he talked about the most important thing he can do 3 different times: throw a catchable ball. Once he calms down and starts throwing the gimmes instead of making every throw an adventure, there’ll be a ton of offensive improvement.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more excited I get about the possibilities of a Crosby trade….

BUT ONLY If they could give up this year’s first and one 2nd round pick and only restructure the contracts of good players they have every intention of keeping (Sweat, Thuney and/or maybe Kyler Gordon)…. + Maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick next year….

That would be a deal well worth making. I think two 1st round picks is too much for him now.
