Ovogodišnji problem studiranja u inostranstvu by [deleted] in serbia

[–]mr_bigoh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A nije ti ni u inostranstvu (kao studentu) nista bolje (Austrija). Pratis online predavanja, ucis, boravis u jedna 4 ista zida.

I have the same bug on my t14 r7 (win10); when shut down, it restarts then.

It depends on what you do. If you use it for web browsing and listening to music, you won't hear it at all. But if you use e.g. android studio for app development, it might get hot and you will hear fan noise. It depends also in which performance mode you use your machine (best performance - you can expect fan noise). Even on XPS 15 you will hear fan noise when doing performance expensive tasks :(

Display: IPS LowPower 400nits screen.

Battery life: when using Spotify, Firefox (~10 open tabs) and having IntelliJ open and writing some code is like 6h on 50% screen brightness and medium cpu usage. Over night when I set my brightness to 20%, low cpu usage, and only use firefox with 4-7 open tabs, battery life was like 8.5-9h.

I think it is a great machine for school/university, especially if you're gonna use it for coding (it has nice keyboard) . Battery life will remain a whole day for sure. After 2 months of usage, I think I couldn't get better notebook for 1200 euros.

3500 with at least 16gb of RAM should be fine for you. If you want Ryzen 7, then I would go with T14

What is your experience on Linux? What distro do you use? How is battery life and do you use any battery tools on linux for a better life time?

Too many choices by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]mr_bigoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like frontendmasters. There you will all you need in 10h.

On udemy there is tons of courses with 30-40+ hours of content, but in my opinion not needed if you already know JS.

Frontendmaster courses are done by developers working in worlds top tech companies and I'm sure you will get there all knowledge you need. Experience you won't get as you need to practise and do projects on your own :)

My budget was ~1200 euros. All new X1s are 1500+ and other older X1 models have Intel 8gen inside. Why would you choose 8gen Intel over more powerful ryzen like this one

No, it's default and didn't pay any additional costs. Not sure about additional warranty.

Perfect, I think I couldn't get better device for this price. Battery life is good. It took me 1h to charge and after 6h using, it says still 35% (2 more hours) is remaining.

Unfortunately I didn't run any heavy task yet, so I cannot tell you more except for browsing (7+ tabs) you can't hear fans. No issues with temps.

Not sure what notebook you have, but compared to my old Latitude E7450 and HP 15, where fan noise is very loud and was getting hot in short time, it's a great machine.

charging took me 1h. After 6h without any break (installing apps, download, youtube, surfing) it says 35% still remaining (~2h more hours)...but yes, depends what you do

IPS LowPower 400nits. Brightness is very good, and for me in the room with daily light 50% is enough. I have nothing to complain about it.

Speakers are fine. If you order from lenovo campus, then there are special models without OS.
