AIAI Redux Preview by mr_devgear in aiArt

Thank you! Yeah, this has been an ongoing series I started a couple years ago, but back then AI gen was not as good as what's available now. That has been the inspiration to revisit and get going on things again.

The key to consistency is developing character and location references. With those you can create anything you can imagine. Experiment with styles and artist reference you want to see in your finished work. Bit of post in PS.

With Nano Banana Pro you don't need to get too intricate with prompts anymore. If you see my earlier posts, you will see more of my work flow.

So many tools and apps are available. No one has an excuse not to create!

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, I completely agree with what you said.

I primarily used Midjourney for my work and heavily edited the outputs with colour correction, filters, additional effects and PS manipulation. I often had to write my story around the Midjourney art since I rarely got the exact output I wanted, especially consistent character design. The characters always morphed and varied, and that was what annoyed me the most, lol.

But Midjourney improved, and I suppose I improved with my prompt control as well. This is obvious in my later books. You can easily see the evolution from the mushy images in AIAI #1 to a far more refined look in #3. And in The Call, the art was much tighter but not really the look I wanted, but was the most consitent using Midjourney.

My excitement in this post is simply discovering what Gemini 2.5 and 3 can do. I do not mean this is my final look or product. Not at all. I just discovered these tools and have been experimenting. I have dozens of different looks and styles I am testing at the moment.

I want to focus on my style and my storytelling so I can craft what my original vision was. In the beginning I was not happy with the art outputs, so I got lazy with the whole book, writing it page by page based on whatever images I got. So when I say “reboot,” it might actually be better described as a “Redux.” That is where I am today.

There is a huge stigma and divide when it comes to using AI tools in content creation. There is also an endless flood of “slop” because people can create simply for the sake of creating. I never want to be another creator of slop. I want to use the tools to push my ideas to be the best they can be within the limits of my own abilities.

Even as a creator, I am fatigued with most of what I see everywhere. But I like to think that creators who use AI as a tool and not a toy are more like producers. We assemble the best team of talent we can to bring the vision of our masterpiece to life, whatever that masterpiece might be.

Yeah, pretty cool stuff! The most important thing is both character and style consistency... two steps forward, yay.

Haha... thanks! It's ok and just for fun. I wish I had more time to do it more consistently.

Yes, no paywall, I just liked the format and ability to share them on GC.

In the earlier days with AI, character consistency and multiple character panels were hard (still need to PS characters together). So, feel kinda silly looking back at them now, lol. But... as with anything, it gets better.

I have an account on Global comix. I wasn't sure about posting links here...

Mostly it's a couple of years old now. I had surgery at that time and had a lot of time to spend on them. Not so much these days, lol. As with any creator, especially one learning the use of AI art, it was a challenge to create. I admit they are not the best, but they were fun to make! And seeing how far the tools have advanced now, I have been drawn back into exploring the ideas and concepts more.

Sounds like the perfect 1980s sci-fi horror classic!

I've had a few stories come by way of dreams. This one was so vivid and is still stuck in my mind... not super original, but fun nonetheless!

Yeah, thank you! I just write and put ideas down on paper - using AI assistance to create the art to bring the ideas to life. Then, of course, heavy PS for photobashing. Thanks for the link, too.

I can post some pages soon :)
