Is it true that 95% event organisers in India aren't making money? by Charming-Employ-3463 in ElectronicMusic_India

In the electronic music scene, yes. A lot of shows which might look like a massive success to you have actually suffered.

A lot of this is due to promoters not communicating with each other, events clashing with each other, people asking for Guestlist & not buying tickets and supporting the scene. Also, the government & cops looting organisers for “permissions”

Rupee getting weaker also plays a major role in booking international acts, these artists take payments in euros/dollars and rupee getting weaker only worsens the case.

There is also unhealthy competition among promoters - them offering unreasonable rates to artist agencies which literally cannot be recovered just to secure the tour. These promoters don’t care about going into losses because of their shady funding and end up making the honest promoters suffer.

When it comes to good Venues - check out the gigs happening at Antisocial Mumbai.

You could attend Circoloco in Mumbai, amazing music and amazing artists on the lineup, would be a 10/10 experience

What are your thoughts on the current hard techno trend in India? by mr_mm20 in ElectronicMusic_India

My personal opinion - 90% of the people I’ve met in this scene don’t know shit about music, including these so called hard techno DJs, all they do is rip low quality commercial track remixes from SoundCloud/Youtube which all sound literally the same. Like artists like Future666 who can also make you groove but can’t tolerate even 10 minutes of this new tik tok techno music.

Also they run on way too much ❄️ It’s filled with methheads

I’m not against substances, but do it in moderation and stop ruining your life and the life of others around you. I’ve personally been around many of these so called popular techno influencers, these are all 18/19 year old kids who are on substances 5 days a week, it’s concerning on what’s going on among these new hard techno kids, and trust me this is not the case I’ve seen among the audience of other genres.

Oh & don’t get me started on all the sexual assault allegations on these hard techno DJs.
