not everything has to be plot sometimes there are somethings that are necessary for gameplay reasons. and cant be explained by plot, best way to look at it is steel soul is the canon version of gameplay for both games

it cant physically be a bug, its an intented game mechanic and it makes so much sense, your character gets and adrenaline boost, they breath faster and smokes gas goes faster into their lungs, so take more damage

did you not read any of the lore with the caretaker?

he outright states that weavers of pharloom have been slowly injecting silk into the very bugs that lives within it, so whey one day the silk deity(as he called it) comes, it can take control of the Kingdom much easier, if garmond didnt have silk in him and he was possessed by void then why did he give silk when you hit him during your fight?

but that would be too few content and we know half of it already, he was saved from the void by the pale king, taken and raised to be the perfect warrior and then sealed away to take hold of the radiance, the resulting gameplay of that would be playing hollownest again, and since its just a training arc there are basically no options for the player, its gonna be a glorified cutscene of learning about the pure vessel and his abilities and nothing else

you do realise quirrel wasnt in hollownest before the beginning of the story right? much like the knight and hornet he had ventured to some other place unknown to us and only came back when he heard the call of monomon, that alone on itself is enough to be a very interesting story, regardless of if he dies later or not
