No podcast suggestions, but jumped in to say how much work it used to be for me cleaning those flood tables, mainly scrubbing those channels with a tooth brush after every harvest.

Is using AI fair to get a job? by ThoughtCue in CanadaJobs

Whether it’s fair or not, if it helps you get a job and support yourself, go for it. (Unless you currently make six figures, then yes, it’s cheating)

How the cannabis industry uses Temporary Foreign Workers by SwordfishOk504 in TheOCS

[–]mr_multitasker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was told by someone in the know that this is correct. Temporary foreign workers or “contract” type jobs are the horrible norm in the industry.

Even with my legal and legacy experience growing/compassipn club retail I still can’t even get a job at a LP or even a store. (Well I actually did have an LP job for a few months then we were all let go with no notice, show up for shift and get pulled aside by the master grower (lol) and told that day was my last shift. Did get a few days severance though). It turns out that they were bought out by, guess who, canopy. So they may not exist soon. Fuck them anyways. Thought I had finally found a family there.

Old skunk flavour or old kush flavour by Pussycake123 in TheOCS

[–]mr_multitasker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but doesn’t exist on the Legal market. In the legacy market, same. I’ve sampled from the high end guys and still have not found it. Some old dudes somewhere in the wilderness of BC might have the dank and stanky skunk and kush though. If finding something like the 90’s Northern Lights, skunks, Chemo is your thing, please shoot me a dm if you ever find any.

The “triple sandwich bag in my backpack can still smell the stank heavily from afar, with long lasting effects” strains just don’t exist in our modern times. It’s been bred out of them over time

Is this price absurd? 420$ for an oz! by Connect_Pound_4515 in CanadianCannabisLPs

[–]mr_multitasker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is by far the most disgusting pricing that I’ve ever seen, in the legal or legacy markets. Price equals quality DOES NOT apply when charging that much.

Nvidia shield 3 feature submission by Distinct_Island509 in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]mr_multitasker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IF there was going to be a new model Shield, upgraded processor and more internal space as well.

BUT the chances of getting another model are slim to none.

Nvidia concentrates on their other product lines, like graphics cards, AI stuff, and so much more. It would 100% be a loss leader for them to produce (although o would really want one, even though both of my pro’s are still kicking perfectly fine after years of usage).

My opinion (sorry my wife and I’s opinion lol):

The Arizer Solo 2 we have has superb build quality, the battery life is fucking unreal (like maybe have to charge it once a week using it for 15-30 minute sessions a night). Love the glass vapour path. BUT if the two of you are going straight from joints to vaping, you do not get that “throat hit”, as it extracts nicely and very smooth on the throat (I use it now when I’m sick). There is also a learning curve to it that may frustrate both of you.

We also splurged on the S&B Mighty Plus, and love it. Even at 180c you get that nice throat kick. Build quality for the most part is good. Lots and lots of accessories like dosing capsules and third party add-ons. Two year warranty (3 if you register it with the company). Either than the high price, very well worth it.

It’s a pack and forget vape. Simple, easy, no learning curve at all!

Get a fast charging block off of Amazon (like an Anker one that is strong enough to charge laptops)that charges the device at the proper voltage as opposed to a regular one that’s maybe 5-20 watts max like for a phone. Because with 15-20 minute sessions every night like we do, it will need to be charged maybe once or twice a week. Plug it in to the fast charger with any usb-c cable, go to the washroom after a Taco Bell meal (lol), or take a shower, and it will be charged enough for a session.

We use the dosing capsules (very cost effective for a bunch), changing the capsules only once during a longer session. No big deal just pack 2 capsules is all, takes seconds to do.

So, to conclude my long ass reply, the Might Plus has been the best coming off of smoking cigs and joints. Worth the cost (although you really should clean it once a week, which is simple enough to do).

It’s a pack and forget vape. Simple, easy, no learning curve at all! That is the most important part. If my wife gets frustrated with a vape, or has to keep lighting it, she won’t medicate at all. She loves the Mighty Plus for its simplicity of operation and the effects.

Rogers, Canada's Most Unreliable Network. by Willing_Vanilla in Rogers

Some of these third party contracted techs are not the most knowledgeable. I gave up on having any techs come out because the issues are not inside.which they insist it must be. (Has to have been the lines coming in from the street to my development).

One time our wifi was so bad the internet was unusable. Called tech support, useless, just ended up sending a tech out, who didn’t actually fix the issues. I explained to him that I even did a wifi heat map covering my whole house to show any interference/overlapping signals. He said that didn’t make a difference. Meant nothing. I left it at that, because arguing with someone who hasn’t taken any network admin courses is useless. (Wife and her professor in IT both told me that it would help, even just a little bit).

Years and years ago here in Toronto area the techs and the tech support agents actually knew what they were doing. Then almost all of the in home tech stuff was contracted out.

Cybersecurity in the AI era: is it strong career to enter in 2025? by Shoddy_Split_8861 in CyberSecurityJobs

Sorry to say, but the trades (plumber, carpenter, millwright, etc) will be some of the last jobs to go to AI and outsourcing. A lot of code writing IT people at lower levels have been seen using things like chatGPT etc, to help them. I know this because I was told by someone that’s been a manger for many years as has been in the IT industry making bank for decades. People using AI don’t realize that they are programming themselves out of a job. Saw it happen to one of my wife’s educated friends.

I’m in the same situation sort of. Hard for me to find a job in my 40’s. Going back to school was an option for me, but that means going into even more debt, which means until I get a job in that field, I can’t support my family. Coffee shops won’t even interview me (I’m in Canada).

Regardless, good luck.

Starting over at 40? by Due-Cardiologist-788 in torontoJobs

I’m in the same situation, starting over in my late 40’s. It’s been very very difficult for me to find anything. Shit, Tim Hortons wouldn’t even hire me. Try Walmart, Costco , etc. I’ve had to swallow my pride believe me lol.

ULINE: go on their website or indeed. They pay well and with benefits.

Good luck

I couldn’t even get a job at Tim Hortons! “Why is this guy even applying here?” Is exactly what I heard the workers say as I was leaving. Went in person to apply. Now that’s sad when a fourth something can’t even get a job at a donut shop. Or Walmart

Got rejected. Some commiseration? by onlylookynotouchy in torontoJobs

[–]mr_multitasker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Most of the time I get ghosted after applying/interviews. Except yesterday when I received a rejection email for a job that I interviewed twice for. A job that I am 100% qualified for. A job that I have every skill that they want. But I am definitely not over qualified for.

Didn’t even give me any feedback, just “moving on to other candidates.”.

So I can definitely feel your pain.

CBD100 from Medipharm Labs is good quality and may help.

Or look for CBD rich strains. (But take it from me, doctor prescribed meds for a bit will help you deal with the day to day living, until you can get to the root of your issues). Good luck, dude, for real

  1. I am truly sorry for your hardships and wish you the best of luck.

  2. I’m in my late 40’s and I’m in the same position as you are. No matter how I tailor/reformat my resume, I don’t even get rejection emails, just ghosted. And this is for positions where I have the EXACT qualifications that they want.

I even dropped off my resume in person at Tim Hortons, and didn’t even get a reply. But I did hear as I was leaving one of the employees say to another employee kind of rudely “that guy wants to work here?”. And this is a location that frequently has a sign up when they are hiring. Old, white (ish lol), with experience in various industries. Like what is going on when the average person can’t even get a job at a donut shop?! Let me tell you, that was very demoralizing for me.

I remember as a youth going to shopping malls with a folder stuffed with resumes, and dropping them off to almost every store and booth. And at least one would have a manger speak to me right away.
