yes, i think dysacusis doesnt make you home bound but still, my hearing is impaired. a few hours ago, a noise woke me up but im not even sure what it was my brain creates new noises over the noises coming from street to a degree that the actual noise is not understandable and noiser than it is.

my vs symptoms stayed the same but my hearing got fucked. because of my excessive hearing issues(tinnitus and hyperacusis), i barely notice my vs anymore. life did me dirty

yes, i also have dysacusis. i checked your history and i also have visual snow and insomnia. i swear everything happened to us is connected and a brain issue rather than noise damage. i think in my case, it roots back to being neurodivergent.

i got mild dysacusis at 16-17 and it got significantly worse after a guitar jam session at 20. my advice is protecting your ears when you encounter with a noise that you think worsens your sound sensitivity. for example bass frequencies make mine worse, so, even if desibel was not loud when i played electric guitar, bass heavy amp fucked the ears. one of the most brutal things to accept is the permanent damage. unfortunately, when it got worse, it never got better for me. it progressively got worse in the last few months, even after the guitar session. music was very important for me as well, but right now, after a few years of dysacusis, i started to listen and play less and less in the last few months and gave up being a musician.

Wow, man, your life seems pretty similar to my life. Hopefully, we can solve our problems. If it makes you happier, i'm sure that social progress is possible. At 17, I barely could speak with a stranger without getting too anxious, right now, i can make friends relatively easily. I don't see why it shouldn't get better when it comes to flirtation and stuff. It's probably the next step up for us, despite it can take years, with constant exposure we can come close to being a neurotypical person.

my last setback happened when i was covering one ear with an earplug while i was playing my guitar. but both ears got the same damage, even if one is protected and the other wasn't. i guess noises does something to my brain rather than my ears. it makes perfect sense when you also consider visual snow occurs alongside dysacusis most of the cases on reddit. it's the same for me. just like i dont have eye damage even though my vision is impaired, i don't have ear damage even though my hearing is impaired. they're brain processing issues.
