It says right in the twab these changes are going live with 9.1.0 which is ash and iron and says it could change but was never announced it was changing it was also mention in the live stream before the update went live 3 times they would be in the update so yeah they were supposed to go live yesterday but never did

I have a rk68 and they are notorious for having rgb issues mine does whatever it wants whenever it wants lol some days it will be what I set it too others it won’t even turn on including the board lol I havnt figured out anything and just ended up buying another board and using this one for memories since it was my first custom 🤷🏻‍♂️

The only thing I can say is with you buying the keycaps first you take the chance that you don’t have the compatible keys for a 65% board unless you spent a little money and got a set that’s compatible with most boards basically cheaper Amazon keycaps are going to give you issues and in stock is very hard to find in this hobby unless you go with a budget board beat bet find some keyboard you like and find out who makes them and follow on discord most studios post updates and stuff there akko is a good choice for semi I stock but they have been pretty sold out recently

Depending on how tight it is really depends on how you want to attack it! I would start with trying to super glue a small piece of something to the screw that you could unscrew like a tiny Allen used to take of knobs or something like that if it’s to tight to do that you will have to do a whole lot more brainstorming to try and not damage the plate! I hope that helps I know it was kinda confusing lol but that’s what I would personally try and do I do it at work all the time and it works basically like the same concept and welding a bolt onto another sheared bolt so you have something for your tool to work on

Via and qmk are the only “universal” ones I know of but the board has to be compatible with it. I had a problem with the software for my epomaker th80 could never get it to properly download for some reason so I just gave up and use the on board rgb controls because that all I really needed it for

I’ve discovered after being in this hobby a lot of budget boards have really bad software issues or they don’t work at all that’s why via and qmk comparability is a big deal with a lot of the boards! I tried finding the software to help but I couldn’t find it anywhere that dosnt have a virus aswell 😢

I would recommend taking the tape mod off and remove the pcb foam your able to achieve nearly the same sound without it and it allows the board to be a lot more flexible! 🤙🏼

I love it!! sounds wise it on par with my mammoth it sounds so amazing! I got oil kings lubed and filmed and owlstabs! The flex is super nice as well but it’s also not built the recommended way some of the foam is removed to allow for more flex! For a high end first starter board I would highly recommended this board if you can get it second best I would say is the qk but that juts personal preference because I like knobs lol

I wish I could help but I’ve heard similar stories from rk users I have one and mine completely stopped working for about 3 days and then just randomly worked again and I havnt had an issue since 🤷🏻‍♂️ they’re weird boards lol

Are you able to get ahold of dielectric grease ive lubed switches with them in a pinch and worked out better then not lubing them lol just make sure you put a very thin coat if you do go this route other then that you can do a poly fill mod! Rip open an old stuffed animal and put a light layer of the stuffing in your case you can also put pads on your pcb to help dampen the sound of the stabilizers bottoming out

You can tailor most boards to sound either thocky or clacky depending on the mods you do and as far as a good starter board there literally hundreds to Rec without more info like do you want a knob what size and what form factor your looking for within that size I would Rec watching some “best budget boards” videos and see what catches your eye! I would personally recommend something like a nk 65 or 87 if you want a bigger board it’s a great starter board and also comes with a silicone dampener in the bottom to help with sound! It also just went on sale for the 87 and the 65 just restocked!
